What about a one time purchase, toggleable option to boost the level of loot obtained by one or two classes?
Call it the Loot Boost: Better starting weapons, and chests drop higher class loot for entire game. Potions are better, and everything else stays the same- monster level, power, player talents, etc... Groups Loot Boosting are excluded from Ladder Competition, player chooses to use at beginning of game or not.

Even if excluded from ladder I don't like this direction of IAP. It's too close to pay to win.

En1gma - we've already reserved the term "Boost" for something else. I will post a thread about it soonto preview the IAP idea.

Even if excluded from ladder I don't like this direction of IAP. It's too close to pay to win. I'm all for proper paid DLC - Extra campaigns and wotnot. But the above is the kind of thing that I despise: Pay real cash for a distinct advantage. No other purpose, no new maps or characters, just something to make the game easier in exchange for real cash. One of the reasons the TB have such a great reputation is by avoiding this kind of thing, and the drive for more funds is the sort of activity which can gradually spiral out of control. The line between 'free' and 'elite' os already getting thinner due to the increasing number of paid add-ons which are being introduced - Four characters in HoS, the three extra skin / clan packs in STE, the ship and character designer in ST, not to mention the 'cheat your way to in game unlocks, achievements and milestones by giving us five dollars' approach. Regardless of a developers reputation, it can crumble away in an instant if the balance of value versus monetization tilts too far to the side of the latter. Be careful Brothers, I know you desire to make a full time living out of this, but don't push too far. Eventually people will start pushing back. And when it comes to considering IAP for ST2, don't forget: We've all gathered together and paid you over $60,000 for it in advance, in good faith. I'm sure the game will be fantastic, but I don't want to be nickle and dimed for recolours a few months down the line. It's bad enough being asked to pay for the reskins in STE when we've bought the Elite version. I mean, it's a handful of new sprites in a variety of palette swaps! As far as mobile developers go, you guys are my heroes. I don't want to see you drift off the path of excellence and into the realm of other mobile devs. ~M~

Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'm flagging this thread with "Falling" because I consider it a closed topic at this point based on fallen's response.

I don't see how this would be too out of line... Distinct advantage over what, other players? Not an issue- it's a single player game. It's not pay to win if you can win without it. This would just be a fun way to change up the game for me. Having made well over a hundred groups, I've really grown tired of the same exact drops, same low powered characters until after the Shaman... I really wasn't trying to ruin anyone's day with this, and they can feel free to say no. It's a wish list, and I made a request, that's all I won't be crushed if they decide not to implement it whatsoever...

So you're bored of playing the part before the Shaman?

Cory Trese- It's not that it's 'boring' per say, it's just that I've done it <So. Many. Times.> that I try as hard as I can not to make any more groups, instead looking to see if I can make existing groups work for what I have in mind. Not your fault- it's mine. I was just thinking of a new way to spice up the game, and this would have done it for me.

One of the best things about TB games is the lack of IAP's and the few that are there you don't really need at all. I can't believe that we've come to the point we're asking them to put more in. So in that respect, I think we need an IAP that allows us to buy more IAP's

Lol fallen I need to get working is what I need to do, not playing more of your awesome games... However, Admiral Rodericis IS making his comeback in-game... Honestly though, this is still the best RPG hands down I've ever played, and even though I've grown tired of E1A1, I still keep chasing that dream of the perfect group, and so my number of groups keeps climbing. Someday I'll get there.

Or even if there was a way to warp either straight to Oskahold, or up until you go down the pit in the North Vault. This is where the game really starts for me, personally... Give us a measure of gold to buy equipment with, all the skill, attribute, and talent points, starting at say level 9. This would let us assign the points, equip ourselves how we see fit, then jump into the pit to test it all out. Cuts like 8+ hours out of the game, and doesn't leave you feeling like you wasted all your time with the group if you end up not liking the dynamics.
I think skipping the entire act would be too much, but up to level 9 I could deal with. Thanks again for even considering this!
