Aww ... I liked negotiating with my Doctors. It'd be nice if your intimidate value helped with your negotiation of price

I was able to replicate the ship upgrade pricing bug but not the doctor bug.
Read all 1200 lines of code in Doctors and I couldn't find a single instance where a randomized seed was used in pricing.
There is the possibility that you are describing the side effect of excellent patient and repeat healing?
I must retract my statement above that "both" will be fixed because the "Doctor Randomized Pricing" could not be located in the code or on any of my test devices.

OK i just got the doctor to do it but I cannot explain why.
This code is so confusing. I miss CK =)
PS: Nevermind I found it good lord LOL, I really do like to make up equations ...

Doctor Prices Fixed Previous versions included a bug where the price of healing at the Doctor would sometimes change randomly based on the number of turns being run by the simulator. This randomized price is now gone and the Doctor will always charge the same amount.

Upgrade Prices Fixed Previous versions included a bug where the price of some types of upgrades in the Starport would sometimes change randomly based on the character's negotiation skill. This randomized price is now gone and upgrade prices will always include 100% of the character's negotiation skill no matter if the simulator has run the current turn or not.

I wish this thread was never started. After surviving a near fatal encounter, from battles that you thought should be a walk in the park and have to heal, it feels good sometimes to have little things go your way. Or after getting price gouged from star ports on far away planets for a new ship, getting away with a discount from an upgrade is something to brag to your friends about. But it's a bug and our ever so diligent developer is just doing his sworn duties. We appreciate your efforts Cory, but this bug is certainly gonna be missed. Goodbye seasonal promotions, coupons and clerical error.

I didn't like the fact that it caused the player to grind the buttons.
Tap then back, tap then back.
Since the player had no input it was simple random chance.
I eliminate all random chance from ST as soon as I find it. Likewise with grinding without input

Well, none of us knew the coding behind all of these, we can only speculate that maybe it's a dice roll depending on intimidation, negotiation, political officer, spice on hold or a bug. Until, you confirm it as a bug, it's not a bug. So based on our speculation of what it might be, one might try to increase his intim or neg or hire a pol officer or carry more spice for those things to occur. So there is an imaginary player input. And sometimes if I exit the upgrade page to the stardock, then enter the upgrade page again, all the availlable upgrades are gone, even if there was "upgrade rumor". I think you should investigate on this one too, it's just so strange that I enter the upgrade page with a full list of availlable upgrade, then I turn around and all of it are sold out!!! Not being demanding (we all are anyway) but, that upgrades disappearing is such a disadvantage to us player, I think you should really look in to it, unless you have purposely coded those things to occur already. If so, maybe it should be toned down a bit.

Task killers can make that happen, for sure. Possibility the phone ran out of memory and cleared the simulationsvas well. I will investigate to see if it is isolated to that or if there is a bug somewhere for some small number of phones. This is not on my list and usually I hear about these bugs VIA email before the forum. I will look tomorrow
