There are a few things I'd like to ask for some tips on:

1. Where is the best place to hunt aliens?
2. What the best way to earn exp in the game, I have read the forum post on how you earn exp but nothing i try seems effective!!
3. I can't seem to find any officers! I regularly buy rumours and visit many different planets urban/wilds but cant find any!

Any tips will be very much appreciated

Tons of threads have advice on hunting aliens, but the best places are:
Red Zones (not Green), dead planets, and when there is a rumor relating to the Alien.

Building up experience is all about having encounters. There are other ways you can build experience but attacks with ships is the fastest way.
Another way you can get XP is blockading a planet during a Solar War, or doing Surveillance during a Spy War. These activities give you XP, and you also have a good chance to get encounters. Note that you'll have to have a lot of WF, or you'll be going back and forth between friendly planets and the place you are blockading/surveillancing

Officers ... there is a big thread on finding officers, but rumors are normally the most effective way of finding an officer.

For example, if there is a rumor of a Spice overflow, then you'll find a Pilot officer on that planet.

Once you have 3x officers, then no matter what planet you go to, you won't find any new ones. the officer option will be greyed out.

I would say in this order:

1. Rumors
2. Dead worlds
3. Red Sectors

The right mix of officers and Artifacts in the Cargo Hold go a long way as well

Oh yeah, forgot about artifacts in the hold. Carry as many as you can - they boost your chances of finding Aliens that love to use anal probes ...
