I keep coming back to this thread because I think it might be about the ST2 game engine. I keep doing the same, then leave thinking "WTH did I just read?" XD

Cory Trese. I notice this thread has begun the usual downward tendency. Serious question. Where is CK 2, on your production map please?

I keep coming back to this thread because I think it might be about the ST2 game engine. Sorry, when did we stop talking about the ST2 engine? I'll come back to this post with an edit when I read the starting post. But I'm sure we kept on topic for this ... Oooooooooooooooh now I see where we went astray. For me, I love the ideas of different traits and characteristics. In ST, there were a bunch of hidden traits that your character developed based on playing style. I thought that there was certainly scope for expanding this aspect of game play, so you could really play a benevolent captain who had the reputation of only attacking when attacked, and never putting enemy crew to the sword. As a result, enemy ships hesitated on encounters, allowing you to acknowledge more and battlestations less. Also, enemy captains surrendered in the middle of battles more (rather than wait until their hull or engines went to 0). That is what you'd do to a captain that has a good reputation. I was working on a pile of traits but never submitted them because I thought you'd have had enough already. Instead, I just pace back and forth waiting for more nuggets of information to come out about the ST2 engine, ST2 game, TA2. See, it's your fault that you mentioned TA2 is imminent because it distracts my pacing from ST2, and I'm really excited about TA2. Now I'm looking forward to see how you've combined some of the aspects of CK with TA1 with HoS to come up with cool movement, control, combat, and abilities. THEN I'm looking forward to seeing how you've taken the learnings and tweaks from TA2 into ST2 THEN I can't wait for you to grab all of that juicy goodness and fold it back into CK2 Then you should stop for a while, because I still haven't finished playing your 1.0 games and need a year to catch up.

Cory Trese. I notice this thread has begun the usual downward tendency. Serious question. Where is CK 2, on your production map please? In all likelihood, CK2 will not enter detailed design until after ST2 is released. Now, there is a precedent here. When we first built CK, at the time, fallen wanted to build Heroes. I convinced him to build a "quick cyberpunk game" to test out the engine. I'm not sure he'll fall for that twice tho. I'm pretty sure fallen is developing a major obsession with Legends of Steel, so that may be a roadblock for CK2 getting the #1 slot after ST2. All opinions my own, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of my employer, Trese Brothers LLC or the owners of the company.

Hahahaha. Soooooo funny. Ah. Bless you and Andrew, Cory. One of my major desires, is to see all your games on PC. I still like my little Wildfire S, but it's not practical for anything except quick sorties into the web, and out again. The phone has real problems with the size of Google Updates nowadays.
