One of the backstory blurbs shown during game loading is (paraphrased) "it is said that seventy two years after the shattering everything changed". Multiples phrases in our heroes' dialogue puts the current action at seventy one years after the shattering.
So who are these clowns grabbing credit after we did all the hard work and where can we go to trounce them?

My understanding is that the events of this game are the prequel in the trilogy of steel to be written. The 4 heroes here set the stage for the epic of steel that will continue in the next 2 games, presumably with their ancestors or at least successors. Also remember that as God killers that is already a pretty big game changer.

Also remember that as God killers that is already a pretty big game changer. - you're dead on. Heroes is the first of 3 games planned in the world's story arc. Killing Gods is definitely a world-shaking kind of event. But ... it's still year 71  |
