Cory,
In your next patch, could you please add in a new "I Win" button to the bridge screen? Pushing this button should result in immediate victory and 100% successful completion of the game. We just need to push the right button, yo.
KKTHXBYE!

I would rather name it "You lose", but the effect should be the same. I just like this wording better.

Fenikso is right, the point of the game is to survive forever, not to win.
-- Player: "Im finally lvl 100! Woohoo!" God: "great! Now you won!" Player: "but i want to continue!" God: "impossible. You won,so the game must end. Thats how it goes." Player: "but-" *YOU WON! text fills the players vision* Player: "NOOOOOOOO!" *player dies*
--so winning means losing.
Maybe make a 'suicide' -button?

There is a subtle difference between "I lose" and "You lose". Especially if it is written on my button and I am talking to you .

So you think that "i lose" button is better than "you lose" button?
--lets make a compromise. "it loses"

Hrmmm. Tense is bugging me here.
I'd go with an "I Lost" button myself.
(after all, if the button ends my game I DEFINITELY LOST)
-abs will now remove his tongue from his cheek, but he is being honest in that he's sure the button is a lose, not a win

ABS: I do like the tense of "I Lost" best. If the button is intended to end the game and create some type of final score then the button could also say "Retire as broken Spice Farmer" in which case it really just starts a new game with your son/daughter =)

*LOL!*
So maybe we should just call the button "Karma Rolls Onwards!" and after viewing your stats it could bring straight to the character generation screen . . . .. . .
-abs tongue is still firmly in his cheek, the open-endedness of ST: RPG is one of it's strongest features in his opinion

Awesome. Maybe you start with +1 XP that way =)
I too love the open ended nature of the game. I think a big part of that facility is the difficulty system. Good lord, it took literally months to make it work but I find that the game is fun from turn 0 to turn 300,000 ... open ended play is something I really adore.
Glad you get that as well ABS.

This whole thread was meant as a joke, that apparently wasn't well received. >.<

no no no no pirate - the first time i read it i lold because i often envision my captain pressing large gray buttons that say "TORPEDO" and "GUN" to issue his commands from the bridge. so of course the first thing i imagined was my captain anticipating his reward and rubbing his hands together like a super villian before pressing the button

This whole thread was meant as a joke, that apparently wasn't well received. Yeah, I have found it so much fun, that I thought it would be pitty to leave it withour answer. My reply was meant as contra-joke as "I win" is equal to "All of you lose, suckers". The message did not get through though. My English is getting rusty...

I had this feeling that english wasn't your first language. I am not my wife, she knows bits of enough languages to generally tell what someone's first language is just from reading/hearing their english. So, what is your first language?
