yes well, reading fiction is not for all of us. Don't even start with me. I am an extremely talented Fictional RPG enthast. I've written circles around you on accident. Accept that you posted it in the wrong thread and delete it from the thread. And your "bones to makeup" bull you write, your "own developed writing style"? That's the standard format nearly every tv show, movie, and video game production team uses. You're not unique, you're not talented, and nobody cares.

I agree with the fact that volyren's post is off-topic, but you should calm down, Technomancer. This is killing the thread. Let's just get back to the original idea : story. And let's not be so aggressive for such petty matters...

Some Knights need to be put in their place. Not everyone can play on Crazy.
But I agree. Back to the ideas!

I'm afraid that this thread has gotten a bit out of hand.
Everyone will have a different take on Andrew's original request ("write stories to match these portraits.")
As with any creative process there will be critics and fans alike but flame wars and hostility do not support the goal of this forum[/li][li] or encourage open dialog. The same can be said for off-topic posts to a thread with a stated goal.
I'm not going to close this thread. Please move back to more constructive topics.
My request: Keep it friendly and keep it on-topic. Andrew and I are very interested in working to keep this forum both positive and relevant.
[/li][li] To advance and discuss the Android RPG games created by Trese Brothers and their community.

... and now I know why I apparently made a mistake with my thread. I wrote a story, or started to... I was helped by the muse. ... then I saw this. so maybe I need to have my story or thread moved. and I feel like I made a mistake, as seemingly most of the fans don't like to read fan fiction
and to think I almost posted another portion to it... or dare I even share an older story too.

LordofSyn -- I moved your thread to the "Tell It to 'em Straight" board. There is a long tradition of posting fan fiction to support and advertise our games. I don't think LordofSyn made a mistake. As long as the posts are on a relevant board and in a new thread I think that's fine. If players wish to skip the Fan Fiction, they they can avoid that board. Really this is my fault for not segregating the posts correctly from the beginning. I should have opened up equal boards for CK as we have to ST, which has been working fine for a while.

Thank you for your support. I have added new content to the story, for any/all who care. this story has actually turned out to be more fun then I originally intended. so, please drop by and leave a blurb on constructive criticism, whether you think I write drivel, questions, etc.

yes well, i still think i am going to just leave it at that. iv'e got better things to do than waste my time. i usually get the same response anywhere, just hadn't noticed THOSE kind of people here yet. i write a LOT. you will be hard pressed to find a single post, or message from me that isnt at least half a page long. I don't mind criticism, as a matter of fact i appreciate it. but i will never understand why people want to get hostile and talk themselves into a frenzy.
I've never claimed to be a top 100 NYT bestseller alumni, but I DO THIS for a living. If you still seem to have a problem with me, Mr. Mancer, Might i suggest a solution that you yourself aluded to? No flaming, no arguing, no whining. You stated that you can write circles around me. So please do so. The more creative work tied to this game, the better. It will only help to increase the players that it brings in. So let something positive come from this meaningless BS. And in the future, if i may offer some advice? The written word, while able to convey more powerful feelings, and meanings, is a very imperfect means of communication. you took my observation "Reading fiction is not for all of us" as some sort of insult. It was not. Fiction generally refers to novels and short stories. Very few FanFic entries reach the length or depth to qualify as traditional fiction. It is not because it is inferior in any way. It needs less descriptions, and less plot, due to the fact that the audience you are aiming for typically knows the ins and outs of the "world" in question. (for instance, if i wrote a dragonball z fanfic, i would not need to write a few paragraphs explaining what saiyans are, or why the dragonballs are so coveted by the world's inhabitants) without the need for backstory and in depth descriptions, the author can focus on the plot, and the specific angle they are trying to work into a larger narrative.
Its been clear, due to the lack of (positive) response, that this particular venture is not going to be a productive use of my time and effort. There is no point in me continuing on a story that can't be used to help CK bring in more players.
Cory, you may delete my work on page 1 if you like. I'm not here to start fights or take up your forum space with something that just causes problems.
And Technomancer? I am quite serious about what i said earlier. If you are as hardcore into this game as you portray, then why not use your skill to make it better? And, just so we can be clear, as simply skimming through one of my long posts does not reveal its content, you are quite mistaken about the method I use. The whole point was that, while most creative writing and english professors teach and prefer a common type of narrative construction, I do not. The usual way that is taught to develop your narrative, is to think about what you want to accomplish, make an outline for the plot, and then begin writing. What makes my method my own is that I do NOT follow a chronological path when writing. I caught quite enough grief from my professors for not following thier methods. To use the "Skeleton" example I listed; The classical way of writing is to start with the head, and work your way down to the feet, until your work can stand on its own legs. My way is sporadic, and allows the author to work on what what has them inspired at the moment. If you are working on the "right arm" and you suddenly get a good idea that would make for a good "Big toe" then I would leave the arm for now, and work on the toe in question. Maybe while I am inspired, I make it all the way to the ankle before returning to finish the arm or even to begin working on yet another "part".
That style of narrative building may not be unique to only me, but it most certainly is not common.
At any rate, I look forward to seeing what you can do in the creative works section.
