johndramey - for each Templar you'll be able to change armor, the two weapons, and two pieces of gear. Honor is no longer in the game - there will be no restrictions on changing your EQ back and forth as needed. It feels great to have removed that limitation from the army building. The items you'ved listed as expanded wargear would either fit as gear (think HoS gear) or as different types of Ordnance - special items you can deploy while playing within a level.

fallen I think you're missing a golden chance here. There's already a well organized grass roots campaign that would make excellent advertising for the new game, FREE THE TB'S!

Loves the link, fallen. Since you gave the ok to discuss it, I have a question. In the video we see templars firing both burst and single shot weapons, are those equipable for soldiers? Is it a conscious equipping decision for us to make or are weapons select fire? Really, really, really excited now!

Generally, that will be the break on who is using burst fire weaponry vs. single shot. For example, a soldier won't pick up anything that isn't burst fire capable, as their most basic attack is BF. Within each class, there are different options available, for example scouts will be choosing between a wide variety of rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Needle Rifles (packing bio-poison damage).

I've been thinking about revamping the tech drawings for SoS, and this has given me the motivation. What else can we expect besides needlers, select fire weapons, and the classics? Lasers, particle beams, grenade launchers, proton packs, M41A pulse rifles, Lawgiver, plasma rifle in the 40 watt range? Props to whoever gets all those references.

Photo is from Robocop (original version) Proton packs is from Ghostbusters M41A pulse rifle is from Aliens Lawgiver is from Judge Dredd (aka every five minutes you hear I am da laaawwwww!) The rest have been used in some way in almost every Sci Fi movie\story out there so it's hard to say

sooooo close XD. Are we glad there are no Narvidians that impersonate human beings that we're aware of?

It's been years since I've seen the first Terminator movie dayan. Part of me feels like I should turn in my geek card and the other part says "Wait a minute, I'm an old fart now. I'm allowed to have temporary memory lapses."

So I'm scribbling out how I want to redo this, I have a long and frankly low resolution image with rough drawings of different weapons. I think I'm going to break them up into sub types that are easier to see and includes some new ones that may or may not exist in the universe. I'll also expand the list of Templar weapons as much as I can.
Examples: The Spandrill utility launcher is designed as kind of a multy-purpose tool for star traders. Think of a single shot or double-barrel 40mm grenade launcher with motorized wire spindle on top. One barrel can launch low-pressure net cannisters, less than lethal rubber shot, cluster grenades, caltrops/tire spikes, and a nice range of other handy dandy rounds. The other barrel is a high pressure barrelthat takes specialized harpoon rounds. The harpoon trails a 300 meter monomolecular wire that can support up to maybe 1000kg. It can be used from anything from a grappling hook for rock climbing, transfer/capture lines for zero G maneuvers, tripping Imperial walkers, ect.
The Hot Shot is a specialized Hydra pistol. Self-contained cartridges fire a brief, highly intense glob of plasma under high pressure that can burn through locks, Narv plating, or be dialed down to work as a welder.
I hope I don't have too many new ideas, I'll never finish.
