I've been saying it for years, that the TB's are peddling digital crack. Even when there was but one game in their stable, it was a horribly terribly evilly addictive one. The forum was alive and well and enthusiastically embraced 4+ years ago, and like seasoned peddlers, they came up with improvements to their products. Things they said would balance out the experience ... in reality, they found ways to make the game even more addictive. "Try this. I know you'll like it. Oh, you're addicted already? I wasn't expecting that" I haven't stayed up to 2am for my current role - and it's been a long long time since I did that for any previous roles too. I just haven't got the passion and enjoyment that you two are having, living the dream of creating games that you love and play. rabidbite, I too have had a story line stuck in my head for months - but I'm not an author, so alas, this idea will just be one of those miniseries played solely within the confines of my head. Gotta tell you, the special effects are soso. I might have to upgrade my brain's video card.Let me guess, your still running a 3dfx voodoo aren't you. Either that or the dust bunny that took its place when the card disintegrated from age became electronically viable.

He looks sideways at his computer with a voodoo so stuck into the circuitry it's grown nano-tubule attachments). (He types) I don't think Voodoo cards exist any more. I sure haven't heard of anyone using them. (shifty eyes) rabid

We here at Mars would also like to bestow thanks to TB on allowing AbYsMaL to no longer worry about losing his notebook on located Colonies. And for making Hunders. And (goes on for hours...). We at Mars believe a reward is in order.
Here is a cookie.
We state it is not a special cookie.
You can eat it while you work.

I had a Voodoo card. It was awesome!! I played Mechwarrior 2 on it at 1024x768 and had everyone drooling. Okay maybe I was just drooling enough for everyone. Cg, you CAN play TA2 Alpha on lots of different platforms. Surely you've got some device that works well enough to test out the game with

Mech 2 at higher resolutions was awesome! Interesting game fact about Mech 2, it was the first computer program that broke the 640k limit of dos. During the game development, two of the lead programmers work on it in their spare time. It just couldn't handle the excessive memory needed at first. Only two mechs could be on the screen at the same time. The game was almost canceled by the producers but when the programmers showed them a video that had 3 mechs going at each other, they gave them a six month extension and more money. The rest became history. The Voodoo's were great. A lot of the modern 3d technology we take for granted now was pioneered by 3dfx. I remember going to computer stores and looking at them in the locked glass cases just wishing I could some how get one. I didn't have have a computer at the time but they were so cool that just having the card itself could make you the coolest kid at school or on the block

slayernz and ntsheepYes. I think I still have a Voodoo card in storage somewhere. Not the earliest ones that actually had TWO graphics cards, one for the graphics and the other for the acceleration, but an old 3DFX Voodoo all the same. I used to play Recoil - a tank game designed specifically for the Voodoo, as well as an old Psion game called Draken. My Wildfire S mobile phone can't run Trese Games anymore, ( just about runs CK). My PC's are of the wrong OS, to play the next generation of TBG's. I'm not too concerned at the moment. Other things need doing, and I have the ability to get another machine, capable of Win 8 - 10, but it's always good to keep some cash reserves for unexpected situations. My own and others. My Mum's not too good these days, so I need to keep a "weather eye" on her.

Oh mine was the double card. I had a ummm Diamond 2D video card, that I upgraded from 256k all the way to 1MB of video ram! Then I had the 3DFX as my 3D card. Oh oh ... played Microsoft's Monster Truck Madness with 3DFX enhanced coolness too

What?!? OH ... he started it --> @someoneelse Anyway, you know that you thanking us is kinda silly at times given that we give you support, but you give us ALL THESE EVILLY AWESOMELY ADDICTIVELY AMAZINGLY COOL games ... so I think that in terms of thank-credits, you owe us 3% and we owe you 99%. So kinda as usual, we accept your thanks and return it in spade-fulls
