I have been testing out a new faction setup to make as much money as freaking possible. Because I have a RIDICULOUS amount of income right now, I have been amassing a slaughterhouse fleet of cruisers. The Jyeeta just decided to increase their activity, but only one ship has come out of the blackness. They already know where I am, and have made a few scouting runs that ended badly for them. The one ship has been there for almost 5 turns now, not moving, so I decided to snap a screencap, hopefully it works...

Good catch. The " LIGHT GUN" in the " GC CANNON IV [LIGHT GUN]" line indicates the type of ship that it can be mounted on: The only guns that can be mounted on ships with Fast Reactors are the ones designated that way as LIGHT GUNs, and guns thus designated cannot be mounted on ships with Reactors or Heavy Reactors. And that " Heavy Gun" logo is stuck on all the LIGHT GUNs that burn 2ap, differentiating them from all other LIGHT GUNs which burn only 1ap and get the " AutoCannon" logo. It's been that way since before I started playing this game, and probably since day one... It did confuse me a bit when I first started playing, so I'll post a suggestion for rectifying this in the Star Traders 4X Empires - UX Push thread.

Heavy Gun / Light Gun artwork differential is not a bug, that's important/intentional feature.
Maybe we should rename the category to "Gun" or something. I dunno if it is worth the confusion, people clearly get it based on the ship designs they send me.

I dunno if it is worth the confusion, people clearly get it based on the ship designs they send me. I wasn't suggesting that it was a bug. Sorry if it sounded that way. I'd recommend keeping the category name ( LIGHT GUN) the same, and just rename the Heavy Gun logo to Light Cannon instead. That way, in the LIGHT GUN (guns for ships with Fast Reactors) category, players will choose between 1ap AutoCannon and 2ap Light Cannon.

Cory Trese, as a member of the Kingdom of Derail, I can tell you that this thread is in no danger and a new one is not needed. In fact to show my good intentions, here is a fun screenshot,

I liked the original idea of this thread, for fun screenshots...... In my current game, I started having trouble concluding trade agreements and noticed that Cadar was way ahead of the other factions in ship count (~5 to 1 vs Rychart, ~12 to 1 vs De Valtos). So to try to get this more in balance asap, I started building this ultra-cheap but essentially useless fighter, (which I just named "cheap", for lack of imagination) in order to run up the other factions' ship counts quickly. Which resulted in this somewhat amusing message in the turn events when they started rolling out of the shipyards. My apologies for the earlier derail.

My first invasion fleet on Crazy launches. This map has big gaps between clusters of 5 systems. I out-maneuvered the xeno early so they had nowhere to go, which was good, because I was immediately hit with about 4 years of incredibly bad politics, where I actually had to scrap my entire fleet and was just barely keeping up on building habs for 7 systems. So that put me way behind, but now the fleet launches to retake the last corner of the quadrant. Of course, a Solar War had to start just as the fleet launched, to tank my economy. Fortunately I've got that thing that has a 90% chance of ending an SW. I subsidized it and am back in the black now.
