Cory Trese does this finally introduce Gravity Drivers to the game? I hope that's what the Heavy Gravcannon is, because the Thulun Cutter took some serious devotion...

Thanks Cory. Since I am carrying out major invasion in my Hard Garden game, can you tell us what exactly you do to these?
- Major re-write of Invasion Rules - New Damage Equations for Military Transports - New Planetary Defense AI for Xeno
That way I can give you some review tomorrow.

I have updated the Library with lots of details. 1) I re-wrote the Invasion rules. That is the part of the code that decides if you get hit, if the planet gets hit and how much damage is done. It works more like ship to ship combat now, and the details about which stats are used are in the Library. 2) New Damage equations are explained in the library, about how conversion for attack damage to planetary points lost. 3) The AI (how Xeno does Evacuate / Defend / Irradiate) was updated to match the new equations and rules. 4) It will work more like the old, pre-patch rules. 5) You have the Library to guide you and more information in the turn log about damage and who did what!

Cory Trese I'm very excited to see a new AI routine. Ship upgrades sound fun. And VERY glad to see the library updated. I won't get time to test her out until the weekend though

Thanks Cory. Since I am carrying out major invasion in my Hard Garden game, can you tell us what exactly you do to these? - Major re-write of Invasion Rules - New Damage Equations for Military Transports - New Planetary Defense AI for Xeno That way I can give you some review tomorrow. Seeing the damages done to transport is nice but I don't think it quite works like the old pre-patch rules either. I guess incremental damages suggested by me in the "nerfing...." thread is not implemented in this patch. I suspect invasion ships still cannot be destroyed in Easy-Normal but then in Hard-Impossible damages are dished out at the same rate. It will be major "Shock and Awe" for anyone graduating from Normal - Hard. I swear before 2.2.17 invasion transport takes damages in my brute force bombardment attacks but nobody dies in 2 turns of less. Unless I find something else when my main 10+ transports invasion fleet get to the front line, I think the odd of winning in Hard is now exponentially more difficult. The tougher AI logic in 2.2.15 will mean endless swarms of xeno ships pestering the player continuously. This revised invasion logic (especially in Hard+) will make it impossible to create Death Worlds aka Neutral Zone / DMZ in any part of the game. If I cannot get enough ships in my $3K+ per turn income with $300K+ in the bank along with many 15CP+ systems; I don't see how that can be done in the earlier turns (year 5-6) when first encounter occurs. In those earlier game turns I am sure all players need to nickle and dime every expenditure, so there will be no possible way to amass a huge invasion fleet before the xeno ships get above level 1-2. The pre-2.2.17 tactics that worked well even after the improved xeno tactics (2.2.15) was 3-4 stock transports with 3-4 Wolf Cruisers (or slightly better) going out for these DMZ creation runs. The xeno logic 2.2.15 can stay but the transports damage level from 2.2.17 and 2.3.1 need to go back to the 2.2.15 level, at least for Hard difficulty. I still loose transports back then due to system defense level and xeno fleets. Once you go into Crazy and Impossible, then the whole 9-yards of nightmare can begin since the bulk of the players will never get there. Since I doubt I will ever achieve victory in my current Hard Garden game, I think I am going to back to Normal once I have enough of this repetitive endless cycles of stalemates.

I hope you can play a bit more and see why I cannot act based on the post above ... 1) incremental damages WERE implemented, of course. 2) Sorry, Hard-Impossible damages are NOT at all the same rate for damage. 3) I don't think you are right about anyone graduating from Normal - Hard, your emotional response and the actual math / player experience don't line up at all. Sorry hlo, at this point we need wait to hear back from other players. I think you may be just too unhappy about the evolution of these rules right now. Wish I understood why you think that. I could not disagree more. Guess we will have to wait and see what the mass of players have to say. Sorry but that is false. I have a special set of "tests for hlo" that are run for every release. One of those tests involves making 10 back to back dead worlds, on Hard, vs. three Xeno AI types. Running those tests takes extra time but the results are worth it to be able to know for sure if your strategy works before I release. Thanks!

As always, everyone and anyone is welcome to send me saved games.
This recent set of issues with invasions earned me more than 20 new saved games from players with issues or demonstrating ways to overpower the rules.
Those are really great -- I can load them into the auto-tester and get all sorts of great numbers out of them.
If anyone feels like their strategies are being under represented posting on the forum and sending me a saved game ... the best way to start.
I cannot promise I'll adapt the game rules to support them, but they will become a permanent part of the pre-release test cycle.

excited to test the new equations for invasion. busy week for me, so it's gonna be a squeeze to test it.
question: from 2.2.15 when WK attacks my colony even if my defenses covers my entire upgrade levels (20+) I lost 10 pop and the WK did not take any damage. I was able to ward off 2 turns. I may have to test more, at that time I was fairly new to the game so I did not know what to expect. so the question is, can my defenses actually damage WK and possibly destroy it?
I haven't reached the highest defense levels yet, so I don't know.

As always, everyone and anyone is welcome to send me saved games. I don't mind sending you my saved games. How do I find the file on my phone? I can view the folders using a computer but did not see any obvious names. Samsung Galaxy S4, Android ver 5.0.1. ST4x was moved to SD card.

hlo - you can access them if your phone is rooted generally. What exactly do you mean? I cannot find anything that resembles the name "trese brothers". Since I use a usb cable to my computer to charge the phone at work, I have no issue browsing the folders.

hlo - unless the device is rooted, my understanding is that you can't get access to the folders, such as /data/data/
