I just wanted to say this is my first rpg experience bearing any resemblance to a free-ranging pnp style. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means, and though familiar with the history of the genre, I've had no actual experience. I can tell the thought behind this endeavor rings of old-school, and I love it. Its got me curious as to the mechanics behind the gameplay (not the coding, but the probability and possibility aspect), and I may try and rustle up some folks to pull off a pnp game. (Not soon, on a farm in hawaii, no people around)
Also wanted to say that, after reading a bunch of forum posts to get up to speed on the progress of development, this may be the most respectful bunch of forum-goers I've ever encountered. Helpful, going through pains to be understood and respectful. Props!!
Now, I'm wondering: What kinds of approaches are people using in the game itself? I'm just curious about the ideas you have for your characters, skill progression, preferred contracts, favorite zones.
My most progressed character is a sniper-hacker, using the money in contracts and faction work to fund good decks and implants to offset a low hacking rating. Likes fennian (especially Ms. Grim =p) and blue ox, run a lot of missions against streets and AzTec, though the weapon-savvy part of him may soon try and shmooze the AzTecs, hearng rumors of the heavier weapons...

Oh, and you've heard this a lot Cory and the dev team, but the reaction to feedback is incredible. Feels like a community effort, and its nice as a player to feel part of the process. =) Ok. Enough sap.

I think the niceness comes from the small use of the forums. There are only about 600 forum members(according to cory)and brobably only 1/6 are active.(ignoring only readers)if there were,say,10 000 members, cory and fallen(andrew) would not be able to read every single thread(without horribly cutting the coding time)
--AND WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!

We do read them all. That part requires coffee and five hour energy.

You read them all and it takes 5 hours NOW to do. If 600 members=5 hours then 10 000members=...you are going to need a lo coffee...

taatuu25 - I do love my coffee. sinker - thanks for the encouragement. Our approach to this endeavor is that it has to be a community effort, and it seems to be working!

You both have made games that we want to play...AND that you reach out with these forums to all of us. the sheer fact that you both Do listen and care...makes us feel like it is our game too. i too share the sentiments. i must say that even though i don't play strpg much, the forums for st and ck are totally different in terms of the vibe you get. as much as i hope for CK to be a big hit, i also want the forums to keep that "family of friends" feel to them. and fallen? how on earth do you stand that 5 hour energy crap? i took half of one once, and thought i would never get the taste out of my mouth. i was burping wildberry cough medicine taste for like 8 hours!

'Hey cory. Pass me the grape.' 'What? We didn't code any grapes into the update...' 'Ooh, there's an idea! 5-hour cybernetic energy.'
