It would be great if I can click down the tech tree to a future tech I desire and that will load up the required tech in a queue.
The ability to queue tech research instead of all at the same time. Priority settings This way I could have 1 or more tech at "Priority 1" which would mean they would all be researched at the same time. If the priority setting is 2, then they would wait in the queue for all of "Priority 1" research to be completed.
This allows for a bit more future planning and queuing without killing your technology advancement and removes another level of micro management that is rife within the game as you start to expand your empire.

CP is allocated to the first project in the queue. RP is spread across all active projects equally. EP is allocated based on most powerful Faction pointer (semi-randomly.)
The current RP system was designed to avoid Micromangement later in the game, and works very well.
Early in the game the player is only researching a few things, and they complete relatively slowly.
They only place one item in the queue, because research priorities change regularly during the game.
Thanks for the post! The complex prioritization feature you describe, unfortunately, is far beyond the ST 4X saved game format's capabilities -- but we will DEFINITELY put it on the list for the next 4X we make!

Thanks for listening and responding. It looks to me that the way “EP,RP,CP” function is kind of like personality traits. There should be a choice at the beginning of the game. It may be the way I play... This wartime situation, with a pseudo-democratic dictatorship, where the General is running the show. Building the foundations for the new Empire! Personality Traits I'd like to have some choice over my personality traits, to save the Empire. Maybe look at it as a major feature to add personalities. Sell the pack. Thanks for discussing, I love ya games. I played the original star traders on palm, and when you ported it to Android it was good to see. I'd play for ages and then stop for sometime, only to find, there were a bunch of sweet new improvements. So Rock On! EDIT: It looks to me that the way “EP,RP,CP” function is kind of like personality traits. CP is allocated to the first project in the queue. <----How about a toggle to act the same as the one below? RP is spread across all active projects equally. <---- Same Toggle as above. Why not have a custom (1-9) number? EP is allocated based on most powerful Faction pointer (semi-randomly.) <----- How about a Toggle for least, average and medium as well?

The way allocation works for CP and RP enable useful manipulations of the queue. For CP, if you start building a Factory and suddenly have population expand, you start a Hab Unit and back burner the Factory--very useful. For RP, you can start a second project before the current project ends and avoid loosing a few spare RP--somewhat useful.
The way allocation works for EP seems sub-optimal. Semi-random assignment of points means I avoid queuing up more than one Diplomatic Effort at a time. I don't see a benefit to this approach to allocation. Does anyone else?

The game's encouraging you not to queue up a bunch of treaties at once. EP spend should be driven by the current Politics. Queuing up things is bad play, so the game doesn't help with it.
