Squadrons and other ship related automation

When my empire is large and I have many ships, movement and combat becomes very mundane and repetitive sometimes. Having to micro manage the fleet is killing my interest in what is a great game, with a good future.
I would like to be able to group a number of ships into a squadron, maybe limited to 5 squadrons per fleet, this enables me to move them all together and target an enemy together.
All of these settings should be configurable within the detailed ship screen.
Movement Formation
The idea of TIGHT formation is that whatever position I put them into, manually 1 ship at a time, regardless of their maximum moves, they would limit the distance travelled to that of the slowest ship, maintaining a tight formation.
The idea of LOOSE formation is that what ever position I put them into, manually 1 ship at a time, when they move they will fly to the destination at maximum speed leaving slower ships behind to catch up later.
Combat Formation
To complement the other thoughts in this thread, there needs to be 3-5 different formations for combat (which could be unlocked through technology research). Being able to select something like arrow, flank, surround, or scattered (you'll have to imagine what they look like, and I'm sure there are many others), so when I direct a squadron to attack a ship they would move into the appropriate formation to accomplish the attack. If a ships primary attack is torpedo, it will set itself to the appropriate range within the desired formation, etc...
Auto Refuel/Repair
Also, having an "Auto Refuel/Repair" option for carriers with this skill would be good. You can click on the detailed view of the ship and set a threshold for the damage/fuel level of target ships and set a proximity threshold for movement outside of the arrival zone (manual movement to destination point). Then set the ship to automatic, where it will automatically move and refuel/repair ships within its zone of coverage. This action should occur at end of turn.
