I have noticed during my Pirate Captain runs that defeated ships seem to not have much Water-Fuel on them. Some I have met had no Water-Fuel whatsoever. I would think all ships ought to have a few units of Water-Fuel to be consistent with the idea that they were using it to travel from point A to point B.
Is Water-Fuel ever expended during battle? Does a full cargo hold impact your speed and maneuverability in battle? And if so, could dumping your cargo in desperate situations help?

Cargo slows down the ship and increases the cost of operating the Engines while in atmosphere.
Cargo increases the required skill checks for Landing, Docking and Enter Orbit Operations.
Cargo attracts military attention when it is: * Illegal * Banned * Taxed
Cargo Attracts Pirates When it is: * Taxed * Scarce

Yeah I had the same problem. Being a pirate, and thus not having access to much trading, its really difficult sometimes maintaining your stores. Seemed really odd that very few ships including merchants carried even a small amount of water. Is like to see at least some other ships keeping the amount I like to hold, especially huge ships like the battleship. If I'm using one I go through tons of water, so why would a clan battleship have only 3 points? That's like 1 movement away from crew death in my book. Glad to see your working on it.

In game the Clan Battleship doesn't need to move very far -- it is only on a short cruise and probably will dock soon.
I am working on it from a game balance standpoint tho.

Did this get fixed? The water numbers on defeated ships are still looking too low for them to be out in space on their own. A minimum amount should be enough fuel to get them to their nearest friendly world, with a margin for error.
I guess it depends on the Intimidation level of the Captain of course. On a big nasty Cadar warship they might just need pure water for a handful of officers, while most of the crew slave away in the bilges, chained to the vacuum pumps, drinking from the recyclers.
Maybe water-fuel is only demanded by us soft, pampered Star Traders, real Spacers don't need it?

Rychart wear those big hats because they're filled with cotton and activated charcoal. There is a spigot on the top.
To hell with water increases. I want to let the men drink vudka!

If they were drinking Vudka, that's probably why I beat them. They were too soused to put up a proper fight!
