I vote for the Cadar, Zenrin, and Javat. A solid Military and Economic Foundation for our Empire will allow growth and prosperity.
Minis and Dice? I suggest we play some Shadowrun. Or Paranoia.

Thulun for the CP boost for getting colonies of the ground, and the ability to toggle to RP is handy when micro managing turns to complete research. Rychart for RP and SP (but they get the crummy worlds) De Valtos to pay for it all.

Wow 5 votes for mixed. This is going to get interesting. So far Thulun is in the lead with 4/5. Everyone else pretty much even. So I am going to need you all to negotiate on who to bring to the table. Looks like this will be a consensus rather than a straight vote.

Is it me or is Thulun the best faction?
I'll really argue for an economic trio of factions. What sense is there in having the most powerful military if you can't fund it? The combination of Javat and Mokk makes for a ton of cash in all eras of the game, while Thulun drives research as well as providing a fast-building platform.
IMO this is my favorite combination, but I'm sure we can come together and make this a game to remember!

En1gma Thulun is the most flexible faction. at impossible I would say thulun combined with Rychart to speed up research. Which economic faction is best is hard to say. I have a soft spot for Javat from my time in STRPG and they provide the most stable resistant to bad politics economy, but MoK's orbital tradeways are an amazing way to squeeze credits out of a crappy system. If you can get devoltos on a high quality high mineral system and take advantage of high tech mines+factories+merchant academy+exchange you can make an unrivaled economic powerhouse by taking advantage of the increased credits from TP, so long as you can keep the politics under control anyways. For a good group I think you need at least one military powerhouse and at least one economic powerhouse. The third faction is more up to personal taste IMO.

Hmm, I really haven't had the chance to play any TB games, including ST4X, so I will defer to your better judgement. I will try to participate in this one though.

I'd be interested in seeing a vanilla Syndicate game at higher difficulty level.

I know Brutus usually is wiser than I in this, so I'll just second him... Even if my Steel Song aren't represented.
