The latest update added Relics. Only one Templar can carry these ancient, sacred, or mighty items at a time, be they a weapon, armor or war gear.
Relics can make unique squad members - a soldier with a needle rifle, an engineer with nearly 200 Heat max, a heavy with impenetrable armor, a Scout who is always in Stealth.
Are you using them? Are you finding their bonuses compelling enough? Thoughts?

Yes I like them so far. Love the +1 MP and +60 heat for my Engineer.

Please mention if you find any relics in which you say "no thanks." Though, some are designed specifically as early-game relics and are intended to be replaced by other relics or higher gear level items later.

Wait a minute, I haven't gotten a chance to play with the latest update yet but how do these relics work? Are they found while playing, ala secrets? Sounds really, really interesting. Now I just gotta find some time to start up BF........

johndramey - the first set of them are simply unlocked on the Requisition Tree. Any Relic node on the tree is golden instead of green. In future updates, they will be unlocked by Achievements (see the ST model of Achievement > Reward).

I now have a suit of Leviathan Scout Relic armour in my Scout equip inventory. It is the same level as the starting Leviathan Scout armour (level 2) and has the same specifications (22 armour, 60% deflection ish).
Where did this armour come from? It does not appear in any of the gold requisition boxes.
Should it have any bonuses to differentiate it from the standard starting armour?

That's a pretty cool system, fallen. Kind of like the award unlocks for ST, eh? I like it!

Are you finding their bonuses compelling enough? Thoughts? To answer your original question, I love the idea of Relics and have used several on my mobile run. I find myself regretting their RP cost however and I'm mostly avoiding them now that I'm on Steam. Maybe I should clarify that I'm avoiding the early game relics. Some of those buried at the bottom of lanes look like game-changers, but it's hard to justify 75 RP for me on a single item that doesn't move me forward in the tech tree at the beginning of the game. There are so many places on the tree that I want to get to and I have a hard time making that happen with detours to early relics.

Wraithbone Kit in Captain's tree tho ... come on!Ok, you got me. The Wraithbone Kit is literally the only relic I've unlocked on my Steam game at level 14. And every mission I am eyeing the first reactor in the Engineer tree. I think it's probably a good balance of cost to make it feel worthwhile. I just didn't like the sense of buyer's remorse I had from my Hellsight Rifle and Behemoth Rifle (before the +fire upgrade) the first time around.

I've got serious buyers remorse from the Rubicon Needler. I bought it but I'm not even using it, I just sort of assumed that it must be awesome, but it only give you trade-offs and not really advantages. You get 10 more bio poison but lose 20 physical damage. You get one more accuracy, but you lose 1 range. For the way I play, it's not worth it.

That was the whole point of the thread I will take a look at it.
