Oh holeecrap Templar Battleforce is so much better than I anticipated. I love you guys, I love your games, I've been a long time lurker here.
My only wishlist thing would be to be able to sub out Nyra for another paladin that you can advance in level, or keep her around and let the player advance her. She's an interesting and compelling character in the story, but having to deploy her keeps the player from leveling up their own paladin that will actually be around to help in the second half. For me I think my captain was lv 21 at the end, and the paladin I deployed in every mission after Nyra left was lv 17-ish, the lowest level character I was using. I know I could just deploy another paladin when she's in the party, but another melee only character with no AOE attacks really unbalances the game.

Short Answer: Sorry, we will not be doing that with Nyra or Luthor.
Longer Answer: She's a story character and continues to be important to the game as we expand the progression. In BF, you do not have to "level up another Paladin" just recruit another Paladin and they're auto-leveled. There is no gear to buy, no gold to collect. All weapons, armor and gear is free.
You get Nyra at full auto level regardless of your RP tree choices. If you want to build spec Paladins, do it. If you don't Nyra still remains effective. Unlimited respecs for your existing Paladin, so if you want to dual-wield Paladins, that's also a choice.

Please let us know the level if you are not seeing that. A screenshot would be great too.

Short Response: Yes, I am capable of working around a substandard specced slot sucker Paladin. (She isn't really that bad, but I'd have spent some of her points differently.) Longer Response: Note that my very minor whine is based on my Easy playthrough game, Ironman will probably be much worse. Especially given how much of a pain it is so far to try and level up one, let alone two, extra Templars...mainly because of squad size limits, which Nyra sucks. Up one of. This means I'm not even trying my favorite Neptune/Berserker combo yet, too much forcing to try to keep one ahead of the autolevel curve. Being forced to dual wield Paladins for a fully functional first tier squad Paladin later in the game if that is the build one wants = limiting player choices. Sure, important storyline character...then let her do a few missions early and sit on the ship answering questions like the Major does or make her the forced Paladin choice among the squad vets like you are forced to have a Hydra for some scenarios.

Ok, thanks for the feedback. We're working on improving her auto-level up function so her Talent and Skill points are more evenly distributed. She really doesn't appear in that many levels.

Which means I need to play more. First run impression so far on Easy, I seem to be able to maintain one "spare" Templar ahead of the auto level curve regularly. The others tend to lose ground on levels without a TP point.

I understand she's part of the story, but I really prefer my Templar Miss Medic. Drops massive heal bombs and passes around the drugs ahem I mean battlefield enhancers.

I think he means 1 additional templar more than the story team can be kept ahead of the ~70% of captain level (easy) of just getting a new recruit. So getting all the team he wants to maintain is an additional challenge that I guess he feels is a bit much to deal with given some levels with no (or not enough) tact points to keep his chosen team near top level.

Correct. At deployment for Detonation Site in Rubric 5 campaign my squad battleforce consists of: CPT & Soldier 14th - 2573 Scout 11th - 1922 Eng 11th - 1823 Neptune 11th - 1804 Eng, Hydra, Paladin, Scout, 2x Soldier 11th - 1791 This may be 100% working as intended and/or my inexperience levelling up, but this appears to be well over halfway through and I can't even get 4 Templars to stay fairly even as my "elite" A team. Both the 2d Eng and Neptune are about to fall into the generic auto level ranks.

And they will be auto-leveled up for you as your progress the squad. That way, you won't need to worry about them falling behind.

Probably just my play style so far, but Nyra is very weak as a healer and with the melee focus on the character she either spends a large portion of her healing on herself or stands around doing little else. Her melee attacks are solid enough but seems her defensive abilities gear aren't really up to holding a front line position against multiple xeno. If she didn't count against the TP squad size limit it wouldn't be as big an issue. Yes I've managed to work around her limitations and make her useful to the squad but she's far from what I'd consider an optimal build. Just took out the Lich and she used 4 of her 5 heals in mission, all on herself. I never left her alone as either my captain or soldier was within a square or two at all times till the final assault when she got left behind to hold the TP.
Anyways having her around isn't a game breaker just an added tactical challenge.
Now if we could get her portrait to use for one of our heroes that would be cool, really want more choices for portraits and she's one of the best pieces of art I've seen in game lol.

Thanks, we'll keep working to improve her higher level builds.

Thanks, we'll keep working to improve her higher level builds. BTW I'm playing on Demanding, Captain is level 12. Nyra's Battlefield Medic (her only healing ability) heals 51 health, while my level 9 Paladin heals 56 with it. One suggestion I'd have for Nyra would be to swap out her Inspiration talent for Battlefield Enhancers, gives her more utility as a healer and ability to buff others DMG and defenses.
