Hi All,
I tried to find a relevant thread for no avail, so forgive me if I missed the right place, this is my first post here, getting out from the read-only state
Yesterday I ran into a strange combat situation, when my captain was flying his ship back to the closest Indie planet after a very successful but exhaustive (ship-wise) blockading. I had some nice cargo obiously and it attracted a pirate with very good ship stats and from a somewhat hostile faction. I was trying to escape, but despite my high Pilot skills (approx. 180 % of my level) I miserably failed. So I decided to oppose them and manage to torp and gun them down a little bit, then tried to get close and board trying to exploit my Warrior skills.
After several shots to their engines and decks I saw that they were not really scratched and my ship started to look really bad. As I was playing on Challenging I knew that this is an "All in, you bastards!" moment.
So I went for advancing and boarding. After several attempts and some further damage to my ship (Engine levels dropped to 3) I managed to Duel several times with the enemy captain and filed in some injuries for him. Then I had to board again as they tried to get away and on the second attempt a message said that I killed the enemy captain and at the same time, my Engines dropped to zero. Also Victory appeared on the screen.
Needless to say, I was really happy that I won the fight as the opposing ship was more stronger than mine and was planning to take it over.
Then on the next screen I was shocked to face the fact that my engines were destroyed, I had run out of oxygen and the opposing ship looted mine. Then got back to my original ship (which had a few points in Engines again, I can't recall if only one or more) and managed to get to the Indie planet with an empty hold
Is this normal behaviour, did anyone run into this before? Maybe a bug?
(For me it would be logical if I board and kill the enemy captain and know that my ship's engines are dead I would stay on the new ship, transfer the cargo from my old one and sail further with the new.)
I am playing the Elite version on a Sony Z1 Compact.
Greetings from Hungary!
Peter
