Hi!
So I've got a Scout who unfortunately bit the dust during mission 4 or 5 (I think - the one where you first take on the new Xeno type, the humanoid one).
After the level had finished, the one where he died I did EXACTLY the following:
Hit the Retry button by accident; meant to press accept. The mission restarted, so I just skipped the dialogue and paused the game, choosing quit (not abort).
I went back into the game, where it loaded up at the HQ.
I looked at my veterans from the HQ and used the filter button to see who it was I lost in battle, and noticed the options to respec and dismiss were still available on the dead scout.
Just out of curiosity, I hit respec, chose skills and attributes, and the game crashes to my home screen.
No error report, no nothing, just closes itself. This is reproducible 100% of the time.
