glad you're still alive & thinking about self-preservation.
and hell, since you're still alive... might as well make a difference - good or bad!

i dont care if you use crammers or if you sleep in a hotel,
but if you're exhausted... you wont learn <j.a.c.k.>
and all your work will be for money/drops only. (hey, i've been there)

dont get me wrong, this early... you want money more than XP
so getting knocked out right now, wont hurt as bad as later...
kinda frees you up to feel the place out a bit.

i dont care if you want implants or not,
but you need better gear...
this .cap-gun/jean-jacket. combo wont cut it deep in NBZ

you should have enough in your pocket for a Raptor II (pistol),
leaving you with just enough to afford a place to rest after a days 'work'
a Mars dealer sells them on the north side, just shy of the Free Streets

with some guts & a little luck...
this gun could keep you alive long enough to save up some cash
and shop for a weapon that better suits you. (dont forget armor)

next, chummer... you need meds & pills.
before you even start thinking about cybering out that body of yours.
they are not cheap & dont be mislead by packaging...
they only do what they say they're gonna do.

-meds... HP up
-stims... MP up (removes exhaustion)
-crams... removes exhaustion
-h.lozz... MP up ( HP down)

it costs a lot,
so you might wanna take a few knock-outs as you save up cash...
why waste a ¥300 medikit for 1XP & tons of heat?

you may be able to pick up some ammo & drugs off your victims,
but is it worth it when the whole damned street saw you smoke 6 dudes?

start small, move slow...
sneak off after a few kills, and if you MUST search the bodies...
INTIMIDATE - make people think twice about talkin sh*t on you

before you start trying to take sides in this little war of ours,
you need more than one taxi... mobility is key

dont avoid everyone following you, if you can stand it... confront them.
they may be helpful - (e.g. 2nd taxi v-chip)

things change quickly in NBZ, chummer...
from the rules of the game (literally) - to the tricks of the trade

you hafta be on your toes in situations like these,
think ahead... be ready for anything.

surprise can drop you faster than a half starved hund after things-giving
when you have a plan - you can take your first step.

even walking down the street has its dangers, Knight...
especially when its under a fractured dome amidst a toxic-tempest

anti corp terrorists are working hard against the Major Corporations
so keep your head up, the dome above us withers more every day...

i've recently lost a comrade to T.A.S. - from exposure, no hostiles in sight...
violent & dirty here - so pack up on supplies when you can afford it.

soon you will be familiar with the powers that be, Los V has its corner of the world
getting in bed with them grants you easy access to hired help.

so it might be good to help them a bit, or check your PDA...
it should be capable of pulling up a simple politics/pay data screen

see what these powers can offer Knights with proper allegiances
and choose your jobs accordingly - as for types, rewards differ...

high risk - high reward, yes...
low payouts are great when you can't afford heat.

so at the begging of your run (low xp to spend - low danger of losing said XP)
risk is low, go for higher paying jobs...

as you build knowledge, take simpler tasks to close in on your goal...
then... rest and grow. choose wisely what you focus on & think ahead.

plan for your next run too, there are SO many ways to go about things...
i will just get random to whet your palette.

two quick ways to cash are terminals & connectors...
but you need to be ready & capable for each choice

the strong run the streets, the wise run the net...
i'll talk to Aubrey first, before i send intel for the hax out there

i do know that to get wired, you need a dataport slammed into the back of your skull

but - back to my jurisdiction...
if you wanna use physical / lethal means, then find a connector.

this early, head over to Commonwealth (Los V) B.W. Saloon...
ask for work, not a connection... and they may just lead you to The Rat.

(its nice to have a job that's only a phone call away, right?)
and try Claire St. Thrift Store while you're close if you need supplies

if you want an extra boost on your way out, stop by the doctor...
pay for some services & you can bump up past that starting 8 pts

if you feel like wandering, try to notice the (non-taxi) pay to travel services...
and keep your eyes open, some places have back doors (again-literally).

as you make your way through your new hometown,
note the walls - if you need to be some place fast...

dont be surprised to find masonry restricting you!
if it does, dont risk your life trying to complete a mission from Hades...

unless, that kinda thing 'is your bag, baby'
but remember, the taxi wont bail you out forever...

You know Gauntlet, Knights don't retire easily. It take a lot ¥¥ to survive, let alone Live.
There is a lot of blood on the road that gets you there.
Some of it is yours, most is others.
To retire, You gotta be the best, and Insanely rich. That's Living. Ha.
In time the new Knights will come knockin'
Some quietly, some not.

Acquaintances. Keep'em close. Friends, keep em closer. Either way, keep that vest on. Never know who's gonna stab you in the back.

But then again, that's the tool for the job. The tool being the vest, and the job, keeping you back safe from stab wounds. Like much in the NBZ you ain't gonna get anywhere if you don't have the right tool.

But what constitutes a "tool"? Is it a gun, a med kit, or a piece of armour? Tell you the truth chummer, it's all and none of those things. A tool can be anything, a teammate in the right position, a few hours analysing the day's events or having Lady Luck owe you several favours.

But, it's not just what the tool is it's how you can use it. A gun's gonna do squat for a cybersword. While a hacker ain't built for hand to hand combat. So, before you think about buying Mars' shiny new piece of tech, ask your self if you can use it.

File: Shopping list
Hey there, made you that shopping list. Like you asked. Not sure why you'd need it though. But, I digress. Here it is:

Automag revolver, a cheap, powerful gun that every knight might want to consider as an addition to their arsenal. Favorite of gunslingers.

Jacket with plates, a cheap, effective armour. Treat yourself to this, it will save your life.

Ammo carts, 75 yen, 50 pistol rounds. Buying a few of these is always a good idea.

Basic medkit, for 300 yen you can purchase a brilliant piece of gear that can heal a crap load of health. Useful when ganged up on.

Plastic bone grafts, these are often used by people who have difficulty walking. The techniques for this are not so invasive as other, stronger grafts. So you won't be loosing out too much.

Dataport 1, a solid piece of tech. If you do not own one of these then you will soon. No knight can function properly without one.

So, there it is. If you need any others. Let me know, and I can set something up.

Sure, chummer. I got time to talk.

I'm holed in Blue Ox till Bravestar turns the oven down. What do I mean by that? Heat, chummer. Every knight's second worst enemy. The first is death. But, by carefully paying attention to heat, death is significantly less likely.

But, what is heat? Simply put, it's how much a particular faction wants to find you. Often this means that you have to kill your way out, but hey, chances are, they were looking to do the same.

You build up heat by doing certain things, cracking some corp's firewalls, cracking some ganger's skull or cracking a bad pun. OK, that last one was a lie. But the first two still stand. Dropping off some "suspicious" package or taking out a high value target are also good, read bad, ways of picking up heat.

How do you drop heat, anyway? Well, that depends on who you piss off. Los Val, you ain't got much to worry about, Bravestar, you might as well be cuttin' off your own leg, then running a marathon. To lose heat, you just gotta lay low. Safe houses, hotels, motels. All works. But you gotta keep moving. Soon, people'll track you down, and thus know where you are. If you keep moving, soon they'll loose your scent and you can continue as per normal.

Your rep also plays a factor in your heat. One that won't go away, no matter how far you travel. If you're not so goody goody with a faction, expect people to come looking for you, if they consider you more important than God Almighty, expect forgiveness.

But, you're a Knight. You gotta play with heat. Just don't get burned.

i THOUGHT i had it running again, but it flopped!
i have a pretty decent file to add to the first post - if i CAN'T rip it / i'll replicate it
which will take time, cause im working from a cell.
but i have every intention of polishing this up!
i have alot of work to do online day to day, so its hard to keep up - via cell phone.
