On Deck 7: Alta Sector I was given a Hydra even though I didn't have one on my team. Before the mission I had 8.3 mil honor. I did the mission successfully on the first try and at the end I had 8.1 mil honor. I dismissed the templar and my honor went up to 8.6 mil immediately. I don't know if this is the intended way that honor is supposed to be calculated but it seems pretty random and weird, especially when I didn't even want that templar added to my squad. Even looking at the scoring guide though it is hard to see how one templar could change the squad average so much and result in a 500k point swing. One wonders, in comparison, how much do we get for successfully completing a level?

contributor - this would be related to how many active Templars you have on your squad.

Yeah, he was the 11th member of the squad, but still that's a crazy swing for a templar I never even wanted. How can adding one templar effect your score so drastically while completing a level successfully with no deaths must only add a fraction of that amount of points?

He's a brand new Templar, so yes, he can have a pretty big impact on the "average" of your other Templars. Checks out here.

Hmmmm, so that templar changes my average (including dead templars) from 15.818182 to 15.5. That drop is worth 500k honor?

How is this mystery score calculated? The guide on Steam says "Your score is increased by the average amount of Experience between all Templars, including dead Templars. Average Experience is weighted more heavily than total."
If a new recruit has a score of "0" then that would explain why one can swing your average so much. It's really punishing to add one later on. It sort of makes we want to go and dismiss templars from various squads and see how much I can jigger my scores.

I've added improving the guide with the full math to our list of about 300 items. We'll do what we can to finish them all.
A huge thanks to everyone who is supporting our games, Patreons, sharing the game and leaving reviews.
