I found my fighter on the opposite side of the map alone and encountered some rats. I had not grouped the party. The fighter retreats to join the party and the party rejoins. Still 10 turns for the party to join. Two rats killed with about 60 squares from original encounter. The game aught to take any monsters that far away out of the encounter if you get my meaning. IMO the AI wants itto fight still but cannot navigate to such a far retreat. This seems like a bug. IMO after 25 squares from nearest player the monster should go back to sleep mode.

Keep an eye on the grouping icon in the HUD, you can see if you are grouped or not at a glance.

I have to spend 8 turns plus to find my lost monster. Suggest scipt to Send it back to sleep to await party to regroup if nearest PC is well removed.from encounter.

chesspupil - thanks for the feedback. We've done everything we can in Heroes of Steel's engine to help with this. Check the HUD to see if your party is grouped or not. Watch the animated in and out arrows. The last thing we are looking at is auto-grouping after cut scenes and combats.

I already told you, what you can do about it. But you constantly refuse… This is an ancient one that I don't think they can do for whatever reason. IIRC, if you move the party to the zone and then zone out it will reset then, but it has been so long since I brought this one up...which makes it a feature
