Any of you ever read "House of Leaves?" One of the most mind bending books I've ever experienced. I haven't, but maybe I should look for that book sometime. Thanks for bringing it up, I guess.

I highly recommend it. I'd try to describe it, but I'll let wikipedia do the talking:"The format and structure of House of Leaves is unconventional, with unusual page layout and style, making it a prime example of ergodic literature. It contains copious footnotes, many of which contain footnotes themselves, including references to fictional books, films or articles.[1] Some pages contain only a few words or lines of text, arranged in strange ways to mirror the events in the story, often creating both an agoraphobic and a claustrophobic effect. The novel is also distinctive for its multiple narrators, who interact with each other in elaborate and disorienting ways."

I looked it up on Wikipedia and read that paragraph a few minutes ago before you even posted this. lol I was careful to not read its plot summary, though.

Any of you ever read "House of Leaves?" One of the most mind bending books I've ever experienced. House of loaves Mmmm ... except too much carbs. Have you ever heard of the "Whole 30" diet? Link to Crazy Stupid diet detailsYou're not allowed anything non-Paleo - and even worse, you're not allowed some paleo stuff either. It's like a crazy stupid Paleo diet on steroids. And no ... you can't eat a house of loaves on the Whole 30 diet

Oh oh ... no offense to people who are doing the Whole 30 diet. I shouldn't harass that which I do not understand ... like modern art.
Did you know I saw fourteen nappies (America, read "diapers") arranged in a pattern within a frame. That was it. The only positive was that the nappies/diapers were clean.
There was one modern art exhibition that was just empty picture frames. The artist wanted you, the audience to visualize what you wanted to see! You know, that's so very very close to the the story about the Emperors New Clothes!

Personally hate most modern art, majority I've seen looks like something a 5 year old would do or worse. Not saying all of the artists are pretentious frauds who lack any real talent, just that a number of them are, or squandering their true talent in favor of making easy money from people who have too much of it and no real appreciation for fine art. Saw a documentary once that showed a "artist" literally tossing buckets of paint in the air behind a lear jet's engines and letting it spray on huge canvases. The set sold for over half a million dollars soon as it dried.

Anyone get snowed in last night? We are in a high wind area, so we only got like 6", but an hour south of us got more than a foot... On the subject of TB Con, I guess the best way to find a spot is to first see where everyone lives-- Cory Trese and fallen included. -I'm in East Providence, Rhode Island

Holy Sh*t! We got that much like 2 years ago... I'd never seen so much snow in my life. I had a little Mercury Cougar that the roof was a few inches below the snowbanks.
How is the beach erosion-- are you near the water?
