I downloaded and installed version 2.6.4 from Google Play this morning and the game loads fine. The fist time I loaded the game I got the black & gray message box I described previously, but NOT the Google looking message box. After selecting the "always send data to the developer" option on the black message box, the game loaded fine. I closed the game and started it again, NO message boxes at all.
I'm really looking forward to the QoL improvements... the Xeno progress bar is very good, and the reordering of the build cue will save me from double checking.
Great stuff guys.

I will try to figure out why you're getting that crash prompt.

Cory Trese , I only got the crash prompt the first time i opened ST4X after installing version 2.6.4--which makes sense because the game had crashed the last time before that I tried it. I've opened ST4X several times since then with NO prompts. Problem is completely fixed for me. Nothing to see here, move along...

That is a bug, we pay the vendor to support our non-dialog use case and they're screwing it up. Microsoft, in this case, is the one we have to blame.

The AI improvements in this version don't seem to be just for the Xeno: I've noticed that my ships' captains now plot courses that make excellent use of Yellow and Green squares to conserve Water Fuel. They're using the shortest, fuel efficient routes as opposed to the shortest, simplest routes which they favored in previous versions.

Yes, that is correct. I put about 8 hours into improving the ST 4X tile routing engine.
That was after I spent about 15 hours on the Star Traders 2 pather and then played ST 4X and was deeply annoyed my ships didn't fly smart.
Andrew was deeply annoyed that I spent 8 hours of unplanned time on ST 4X, but he's not the boss of me (or is he?)
