Upon starting a new game as a Star Trader (starting at 57.1AE), I encountered and destroyed an Alien ship by 57.18AE. I encountered another Alien ship in 57.42, and destroyed it as well. Has anyone had Alien encounters as early as this? If so, did you survive? Here are screenshots of the Ship's Log:

Screenshot didn't load, you might need to try an alternate site like Imgur...
I've never seen that before-- I've played entire games that I don't even see the Xeno, let alone two...

Huge part of it is how well you manage your routes and rumors. More experienced players will run into them less, being aware of the game.

I was playing on Demanding, and immediately ventured into the red zone. I know Aliens hang out there, but it's still surprising that I ran into 2 of them! I also uploaded the screenshots to Imgur, so hopefully it works now.

As a sandbox game that relies on generation of events, political climates, rumors, and all sorts of happening -- Star Traders continues to surprise, even years later. One of the best things about the game. This is well within the expected bounds of play, if extremely rare dice.

It is a good chance to take one down early, especially the elusive hive. Or it is a good chance to die young, especially the not so elusive Terrox.

I don't know why we're saying "really early" like there is some set expectation of when the Xeno start to arrive.
On appropriate difficulty, their is a chance of an encounter on turn #2. That's the way the game works, as designed, for maximum fun and balance.
THANKS!!!

True enough. I've even been mauled on green squares trying to fly safe early game. I love this part of the game, not just Xeno but the tension that builds with ships each encounter brings. Peaceful merchant, or blood thirsty pirate?

Peaceful merchant, or blood thirsty pirate? It is possible. The odds of Xeno encounter on a properly functioning device in green in the first 700 turns is about 0.00001%

It was such a cool way to start! Unexpected things happen all the time in this game, and I love it.

Yeah, that is one of the things hundreds of thousands of people have enjoyed about Star Traders RPG over the years ... the variety of possible outcomes and scenarios have kept some dedicated players involved in the game since it was first released.
