You might have ended up here for many reasons, but I am always impressed with how many folks stays! Whatever might have brought you here, why do you stay?
Just a poll for interest, it won't have any ramifications.

Wanting more information about Star Traders brought me here but what made me stay? I voted Community over Games; A major reason is because Andrew and Cory are so active in the community. I also love the whimsical sense of humor that so many members bring here. Threads that have little to do with the games have busted me out laughing! I find myself running out of the room to tell Sweet Polly Purebred "Hey did you see so and so's last post it's hilarious!" There are allot of brilliant fun people here. It is really cool to see into their minds and share. A heartfelt thanks to all of my fellow forum dwellers.

Community cooperation and competition as seen particularly in Hero's of Steel and Templar Battleforce.
Also the collaborative evolution of each game. Even before I became a dedicated member of the Alpha teams; I've felt my feedback and the communities feed back shape and change the games.

CdrPlatypus - great point! I'd add that to the poll if I could, but they lock the answers once you post I guess.

Weirdly, ST RPG and Cyber Knights are my favorites, but the game I end up playing most is Templar Battleforce.
I guess the latter is easier to pick up and put down. I always play near or at the top difficulty, so route planning and extreme caution are important for ST RPG and CK. I spend a lot of time on public transit, which is a lot of stop-and-go - not conducive to planning a haul from Cadar Prime to the outer colonies while avoiding alien rumors and selecting the correct stops and destination according to faction politics, since the slightest mistake can have dire consequences.
Of course, Templar Battleforce is just as unforgiving with the difficulty cranked up, but I find that having already played through the campaign a dozen times, I only need to come up with a single overall strategic plan (squad composition, requisition progression schedule). That leaves only the tactical situation requiring my immediate attention, which is much easier to take in at a (careful) glance.

In the grand scheme of existence in this universe, the time between now and then is completely insignificant. It doesn't make me feel any better though.

ST was the game that introduced me to the TB's. I played it and TA and CK for a few months before I joined the forum because I needed to report a bug in CK. The TB's responded quickly and the bug was fixed in a few days. I was amazed by the service and began hanging out on the forum reading the fan fictions and tips from others. What finally made me a regular member was the Torp War and the very funny members I found in it. Soon I found myself writing my own stories and posting tips for others. I began to feel like I knew the other users here each time a joke or remark was made that they got and understood. I could quote a obscure line from a film or book and within minutes, ten other people would be quoting it also. You want to derail a thread here, just say something from the Princess Bride or Last Starfighter and watch the fun fly.
For a while, I didn't log in for a few months but still looked at the Torp War thread every few days. One day after I got a new phone, I found a thread for missing members and saw my name second on the list. I was shocked that someone was wondering about where I had gone. That's the moment I knew I had found a digital home on the web. It's the people here that I love the most. Over five years ago a case of boredom lead me to a google play search for games. A fun app called Star Traders put a smile on my face. The forum made it an ear to ear grin. The future is going to be great.

ST still occupies regular phone space for me, and I wait on ST 2. Like ntsheep, I'm also here for community... It's so chill here and I can always get a smile going.
