Just think it would be cool to have a number of slots for the different modification types, differing by ship class. Say the Vae Victus for example, being the first available starter ship would be as is now, one slot per mod. But larger ships such as cruisers or carriers could have 2 or more, but each upgrade would take up a certain number of slots. So, say you want to put a combat upgrade on, you would have to make sure you had enough combat slots. On larger ships this wouldn't be as big of a problem since they have more slots, alowing for larger and/or multiple smaller upgrades.

Hey Fleshybits ... we've all had thoughts like this - unfortunately the game engine doesn't easily allow changes to the number of slots, or having the ability to remove or further enhance a ship upgrade. This is something that is planned for the ST RPG 2 game in the distant future.

Hmm... wonder what it would smell like after getting hit by Cadarian torpedoes. Steak? Yummy...

Lol, How to Cook Like a Cadarian:
Step 1: Locate ship of fleshy-bits (or any other ship for that matter, any hapless sap will work.) Step 2: Lock torps on desired meal location (or everything if your really hungry.)
Step 3: Sear targeted ship to desired taste
For those who like their food to kick or squirm helplesly a bit while they eat, a light torp searing is recommended, but for those that like a full-bodied taste a good full barrage of all available torps is the sure way to go!

I could just imagine at the Star Dock. Shipwright: We have ALL the latest upgrades here thanks to a boom. Whatcha need? Captain: I just captured an alien FleshCraft. It needs a little mending. I'm getting blood all over my boots. Shipwright: Will do. Got to get a few hundred livestock and some "volunteers" in the slums. That'd be 12 credits. Captain: Whoa! That's hell of a lot cheaper than my old ship! Shipwright: Does metal grow on grass and mutliply like crazy? No? There, you got your answer. Captain: Nice! So, how about upgrades? Shipwright: Let's seem, for FleshCrafts, we have the Enlarged Pores that sucks energy faster than 100 Solar Sails. Captain: Great! What are the procedures and how much is it? Shipwright: We'll just bake it under the sun, pour some oil on the surface and fling some mud over the oil. The Enlarged Pores upgrade will be done in a week's time. That costs 2 credits, since my boys enjoy doing that. Captain: Holy cow! I love FleshCrafts! Shipwright: Wait till we tell you about the improved propulsion upgrade: Incendiary Flatulence!

So, could we mate them to root out the unwanted traits. You know, make 'em pump out super Fleshcraft babies? If so I want a Cadarian Fleshcraft.
(Great word for 'em blackgauntlet)

Cylon ships are semi-organic, as are the some of the ships in Farscape (Leviathans). There's Lexx, and I think the SG Atlantis Wraith ships are organic too.
Hmm ... now if all of those ships got together in a drunken party, I'd wonder what the offspring would be like ...

I think the real question to ask, is what that would be like for the crew still on the ships... Do they live with the horrors (or new fetish's?) of what they've witnessed, or are they consumed for extra energy during the process? "Captain, the ships are about to uh, um..." "Ah, very good ensign. I'll be watching from the cargo shuttle outside." "Your not staying aboard sir?" "Of course not, someone needs to fly my new ship outa here after... ah, oops, almost slipped again." "Sir?" "Hm, oh, nothing ensign. Carry on."

Perversion warrants exaltation. Sounds like something a Chaos Space Marine would say.

That's what my Templar Squad members say to each other when they smear alien guts on the wall. ;D
