I've been playing for over five years and I still learn something new every now and then. One of the things that makes it so much fun.

Wait, what?? I thought that all the Alliance does is to make you lose rep with both factions with when you do something wrong (well, something against one of the allied factions). At least, that's what the help file claims. Are you saying there are cases where it helps increase rep with both factions?? Where can I learn more about this?

I'll add it to the to-do list for the help file. Best way to learn about the game is playing. There are lots of forum threads about Politics as well.

If you ask me, I am not too fond of politics. There are just two points for me to abide by 1. Keep your rep over -30 2. Use spy and solar wars, since alliance doesn't apply to blockade and surveillance. That's basically it

That's basically it That's definitely one way to play, no chance to anywhere nearly as successful as players who play the full game, but that's one of the beautiful things about the design of that game ... so many ways to play. Play all the systems or play just one, up to you.

This is one thing I like about ST: it's an open-ended game where you're not railroaded or otherwise forced to play a certain way, as long as you can figure out a way to survive. A lot of RPGs out there are too railroaded, the plot forces you along its path by arbitrary restrictions on what you can do or where you can go. Not many successful RPGs are open-ended yet do not become a boring grindfest of killing X number of the next generic cookie-cutter monster whose stats are just level (N-1) monsters multiplied by K. With ST you can start out as a bounty hunter, switch to explorer on the side, then pirate for a bit, then play with politics, then do some merchandizing, then go back to being an explorer, etc., it's all possible as long as you can figure out a way to do it. It's awesome.

We're working very hard to recapture the design that has drawn in hundreds of thousands of players for ST2. It won't be easy, but we're going to give it our very best.

Hello.
Any chance that we'll get an update for iOS? The last update shows up as mid-2015, for me.

Hello. Any chance that we'll get an update for iOS? The last update shows up as mid-2015, for me. Hello, Hello. I'm pretty sure I've seen Cory say somewhere that iOS takes longer to update because Apple has a long waiting list for reviewing app updates. I have no idea how long it usually takes for iOS updates, but you'll get it eventually.

Hello. Any chance that we'll get an update for iOS? The last update shows up as mid-2015, for me. I am working on an iOS update that should be ready in about 2 weeks. Sorry it takes so long. ALL of our other games on iOS are up to date. Star Traders 4X, Heroes of Steel and Templar Battleforce are all much easier for us to update on iOS. Star Traders 2 will also be fully updated on iOS when we release it on mobile.

Sweet! Thanks, you two. Any projected release date for ST2? Sorry for going off-topic. We cannot give an ETA, but we're hard at work preparing the alpha for the Kickstarter team. As for public release, that's some time well after the alpha, depending on how long the KS team needs.
