I see, so the point of your ramming isn't to destroy your opponent, but yourself. For that, high pilot and convenient enemy ship are enough. But nothing can help against aliens... Their ships have sometimes so thick armor that it's just better to board them. Well if you ram aliens and destroy your own ship, you can escape with an escape shuttle. You probably will breach their hull too, if it makes you feel better  You are right in that if you want to *defeat* aliens and not just survive them, boarding is better |

It depends on your Ship and Captain builds, really, which is better (Gun, Torp or Boarding.)
