You want to have your hunds fully out fitted with implants, armor, and gear before they can really take a drone down.

Should I keep my hunds away from one? At the moment (except in MnB) I'm almost exclusively playing hunder. I really like the class. The thing about drones is that they have more AP than you. Than your dogs, too. So keeping a drone away from something that it wants to go after is not possible, barring tricks like stuffing the weak members of your party down a dead-end street and blocking the entrance. Hunds that might run into drones really like hard armour. Blue Ox Kennels has some. I always equip my hunds with electric teeth, as that is usually the correct thing to do. So I also buy each of them a set of chompers. When I see deadly robots, the first move for my hunds is to equip their chompers, which go on over the implants. Two dogs with plenty of AP and chompers can finish off a Predator Drone. But they'd really prefer it if you shot the thing with your rifle instead. You put the chompers on, not because this is a great way to kill drones, but because it may save the dog's life, should your rifle jam and you hit nothing. Remember to unequip your chompers before you start capturing targets .... "Ooops, shredded another mark. 4,000 Yen down the drain and Mars hates me now ..."

My capture contracts go along the lines of hunds go and distract the guards while I take out the mark... USUALLY.
I have times I forget to switch to my secondary weapon (at the moment, the one Blasta Gun) and shoot them with my Raptor... needless to say, the contractors didn't like that. Neither did I, it gave good money.

What's DV? I think of De Valtos.
Does it affect anything?

DV is 'Delta Value'. If you look at an implant it will have that listed.
ImplantDV: 40 or ImplantDV: 35 , right by the price.
A completely implant free knight has a DV of 0, so a perfect natural score of 200. Every time the knight completes a task, if he or she isn't exhaused, they roll a d200, which has sides from 0 to 199. If they are unluckly enough to roll 0, they get no experience for the job. Otherwise they get +1 experience. This is the XP that you trade into character points when you rest in hotels.
But a knight who purchases Dermal Sheathing (ImplantDV: 40) is no longer so pure. He only has a score of 160. When the dice are rolled for him, after he completes a job, if he has 39 and under, he gets no experience. And these things stack. If he decides to get a Range Finder (ImplantDV:10) to go with his Body Armour, then he needs to roll above 49. Should you put 200 points of DV -- or more, and it is easy to do this, though very expensive -- you stop getting experience altogether.
If you look at your team, as individuals you will see:
CharName - Profession
DV: Unaugmented Human [0] <-- the number in the parentheses is your DV. XP Ready [8] XP Total [17]
--------
Dogs work the same way but I am not sure if their dice roll is also on the 1-200 scale or if they have a smaller amount of DV to play with to go with their smaller size.

So, what is the "Face" class, how do you play it?
Same with Agent EX.
Decided to try something other than Hunder for a new character. (No, autocorrect, I meant character, not charger)

The "Face" class is the negotiatior. They excell in taking thier way out of things and receive a bonus for negotiation jobs.

Should I keep my hunds away from one? At the moment (except in MnB) I'm almost exclusively playing hunder. I really like the class. I put shock maw Is in my hunds. The more expensive shock maw 2s don't deliver enough of a better experience to be worth the DV. This makes them give out mental and not physical damage. All the enemies in the game with 2 exceptions have mental points <= physical points, so this is in general a win for hunds. The tiny flying tins -- 4HP/4MP and they have many, many names -- are no trouble with shock maws. They are no trouble without, either. The great big huge green cannons are also not a lot of trouble. They don't have too many MP, same as their HP, though more than the tiny robots, and they are slow, slow, slow with poor AP and poor athletics. So wait until they are out of AP, and then rush them on 2 or more sides and chew them up. It's bad to start the combat with yourself in range -- cover, which I pretty much never use, makes perfect sense in this situation, because if they shoot you, and are successful, it can kill a dog. Still, a dog's best friend is a man with a rifle and the AP to use it in this situation. The real problem is predator drones, and horizon drones. They have lots of athletics (they come at you very fast). They have lots of AP (and they keep on coming, and have plenty more points where that came from to attack you with). They have lots of speed (which in this case means they will shoot you many, many times when they attack you). And they have tons and tons and tons of MP, so that killing them with HP damage really is necessary. And their shots have decent penetration. You will want hard armour when you go up against them. Doggies too -- synth skin is just not good enough. Buy Hard armour in Blue Ox land. So -- what to do with the doggies? Plan A. I will kill them with my Rifle/Dual Raptor IIs/Great Big Stick I got as a reward from Los V/ All good dogs, stay way out of the way. Go munch some non-robot opponents, remembering to save AP so that if the nasty predator drone goes after you, you can run like the wind. Plan B. Build yourself a drone-killer hund. Forget the shock maw, you want the one that does extra physical damage. Hydralic jaw, or something like that. This works, but I never do this because of Plan C. Buy chompers for your hunds. If you see Horizon Drones and/or Predator Drones, the first thing to do is to equip them with chompers, over their shock maws. Then they dish out physical damage. It is not as good as Plan B, in terms of dishing out physical damage to kill robots, but the rest of the time your dogs will be more useful, and won't be giving you heat problems because they cannot stun an opponent, only kill him. Forget which dog has the drone killing teeth and, ooops, that capture mission didn't work out so well after all. 2k down the drain and Mars hates me now. Remember to take off the chompers when you are done.

ooops, I thought that was your last note. So I replied to the wrong thing. By now, you know all about this. sorry.
Faces get negotiation bonuses. Unfortunately, the game never got developed enough so that negotiation matters all that much. The class could have been very cool to play, but as it is, it's just another fighting class, with no fighting bonuses. You get your starting gear for cheaper, though.
Agent Exs were to be electronics wizards. They aren't. They are as rotten at using the healing medkits as everybody else, and the doors in the NBZ don't have electronic locks on them (this was the plan) so you don't need to break into them. There were other things they were going to be able to do, but we need to wait for CK2 to see any of them.

Slight spoilers in this question.
Returning to this great game after a long hiatus. I've run up a nice 200+ rep with Brave Star and I'm expecting them to provide fast travel between Brave Star New Boston HQ and River Park. But , when I visit the building in question, I get no offer for the secure link. Is it a MNB only thing, or am I missing something?
