What are advantages or disadvantages with Death Warrants?
PS TB, great game! I love star traders, and it's really fun and addicting!

I know Death Warrants will make you fight tougher ships in the bounty hunting contracts, so it's not a good idea to buy one early on. It also increases pay, doesn't it? It increases Rep gains in duel of assassins too.

Also, it increases rep losses to the other side during duels of assaasins. I don't know if it makes you fight tougher opponents, since it depends on the build of the enemy ship to determine whether it's tougher or not. Yesterday I have encountered a prime example of that. But it boosts the prices paid for bounty hunter contracts. It also gives you more experience in spy battles during surveillance. And last but not least, it protects your ship from bounty hunters. No matter how negative your reputation is, enemy bounty hunters will leave you be as long as you have death warrants. Not that it matters that much, because warships care only about rank, and after you destroy one, you lose your death warrant. But I managed to preserve my death warrant for 7 years despite being a criminal. Then I met a warship I couldn't run away from and we had a battle.

I think it also increases the frequency of assassination/capture contracts offered to you by the faction.

In the help section, for the Bounty Hunter, it says that Death Warrants will have you face tougher enemies during bounty hunting contracts sometimes.
