Here's my have to laugh take on some of my repeat mistakes.
Ferrari, Power Relay: let's run to the next relay! Let's forget to activate the switch we were just at!
Mok Drop: ( or any level with multiple Lancers) let's race into the trench! Let's end up one square short of our range, but well within Lancer's range!
Levels with tight passages: hmm, let's move my scout up first, let's ignore the two Templars blocking the way we have to go! (Watches scout try to take the long way, usually into promethium field, or nest of hunters.)
Too many times: let's not adjust overwatch even though we didn't shoot this turn, or even move, my 39 hp Soldier will be fine with that Goliath four squares away.
Too many times, part two: let's move everyone up to attack, then forget to use everyone's attack!
Too many times, the third: make sure SOMEONE heat locks one turn short of beating a level.
More to come, I'm certain.

Lol - great set Especially Mok and FLance. The overheating lock the turn you are about to beat the level ... that's basically tradition at this point for speed players Right to the line!

Ngl I keep doing that on the power relay. I now take a 2nd engineer to stay one node behind the team to backtrack with haste should it be necessary.
Just going to add another for myself:
Any level with doors that shut - I've lost count of the times I've locked Templars out or squished them because I moved the Templar activating the switch first -_-

Being new I'm finding it to be a matter of "I'll just left click to deselect this NO NO NO DON'T MOVE THERE, F#%K!"

There have been many times I've rapidly force-closed the app to undo a stupid mistake - such as immediately hitting end turn

Can I add the one about setting up a sentry gun in a-person-wide corridor...with my Engineer on the wrong side, with no exit. Yeah, that happened.

I'm developing a favorite blunder. Twice now on the Rubic 5 level where you have to throw a switch and then get to a door to bring in reinforcements I've forgotten to throw the first switch. I get to the door and can't figure out why the heck it won't open. Normally, just before I submit a bug report, I remember the switch and then have to send someone back to get the switch, burning turns and building heat. It's one of those cases where I'm overly familiar with the level and never read the dialogue and I'm so focused on speed I just blitz for the door before I think about what I'm supposed to do. The last time was so painful though, that maybe I won't do that again.

*sighs* it's the first one on that level that always gets me, turn 2 has me activating the switch but usually I forget to move everyone else first in my hurry to do so

On the subject of gates I recently discovered that you can crush a templar as early as the first level. At first I thought I had a found a clever way of getting Major Luthor out of the way and advancing my career, but it seems that the BF storyline is not that malleable. It's funny though because you can also lock him with the scitterings on the otherside of the bulkhead gate and still successfully complete the mission.

I've crushed Luthor once as well, though I never locked him out in the cold with the Scitterings! Lmao!
