Naw, it ain't so bad once you get in a rhythm. One word at a time, OG. Have confidence and more importantly have fun with it.

Cheer up my Queen. Relax, take a deep breath, and smile. Don't let things get you down to easy. I've got lots of story ideas that I've been toying with for years in some cases. When the time is right, it will come to you. Set aside a little time just to think about things, and if something happens, great! If not, then don't worry. Just wait until next time.

Have I ever said how awesome our community is here? Seriously though. Shake your own hands and give yourselves a part on the back, all of you. I don't think I've met one shitty person in my 2 years with all of you, so thanks for being you.

Yeah, you guys are right. I'm just trying so hard to be a professional about it I forget to have fun every once in a while. Maybe I just need a break from Roach to clear my palate a little bit.

I was thinking about this the other day - maybe it's because Cory Trese and fallen actually listen to us so no-one goes into 'angry internet rant mode', and the welcoming atmosphere creates a feeling of community that people want to be a part of, rather than disrupt. Aww, now I'm tearing up thinking about it 😁 Thanks for creating such great games that encourage a community like this, TB!

It also helps to have a small community: jerks don't last long when everyone knows each other here.

Seventh Sanctum does indeed give you great ideas.
Imhotep was a pirate who killed Columbus, brought down Marquis De Sade, fought Mohammed, was directly responsible for computer games and terraforming, was connected to Joan of Arc and Genghis Khan by s secret society and fought Bill Gates (who was a Dragon), and was ultimately killed by Marco Polo.
Time to start writing.

So I've finally got a concrete plan for my writing.
I may or may not have said I'm learning to program. Either way, I'm making a game, a simple, text based BASIC game. However during the process of getting ideas and coding the stuff... I thought it'd make a good story to write. So, I'm making one based off the game I'm making.
It's in a Steampunk, post apocalyptic era. You know, like most Steampunk stuff.
My game follows multiple paths, with multiple endings. The story follows a prologue of sorts. Before the character in the game became who he was. Still collecting ideas, and such. But hey, I have the overall idea in my head.

After wading through multiple other tasks, Thursday I finally made progress on the proposal I'm writing. That felt good, and I'm much less scared of it now.
I'll have to back burner the proposal for a few days as I revise a manuscript under a re-submission deadline from a journal. But, I generally enjoy going back an revising things, so that'll be easy to focus on, got part of it done this morning.
I've got a fairly deep list of writing tasks that I must complete in the next couple of weeks. Think I'll report on them here periodically as a motivator and organizer.

Sounds good. I'm reaching the end of Act I for Roach and an currently panicking over an interrogation scene. I'm probably packing a bit too much in it, so I'm looking at alternatives now. Wanted to thank everyone again for being supportive and all that jazz.

OK, I knocked out the manuscript revisions last night a bit before 10pm. Felt good. When you submit a paper to a scientific journal, it goes through peer review by anonymous scientists, and you get back comments that you must address each comment separately before the journal editor will consider your paper for publication. I go through stages with this process. When I first read the reviewers comments, I tend to feel annoyed and a bit overwhelmed. When I start working on them the irritation increases as I start working my way through the comments. After working comment-by-comment for a while, I often develop a vision for how i want to deal with revisions overall. Then I start enjoying the process and get to a place where I can see how the paper is being improved.
Now i've got to re-engage with the proposal that has been causing me writers block, anxiety, fear--though I feel good about it at the moment. This morning I'm going to do some reading and take some notes. Then later today, I'll get back to updating the proposal. With luck I can finish off the proposal by the end of the week. Wish me luck.
