PS: Probably one of the better squad based strategy game I've played in awhile, I like the overall design of the game. Simple numbers, simple battle interactions, abundant choices on how to build squads and individuals. Thanks for making a good game and I hope you keep working on this game in the near future. Thank you for your review on Steam. Could you help me out by highlighting the quality of life requests you've posted so we can be sure to get on them?

fallen - Ah some confusion on this one. So this is my first post, lets get that outta the way, i haven't posted anything besides this one. The quality of life requests i'm talking about are all over this forum that other people posted and i just read and agree with them and did not reply. I just like to lurk. You have already responded and given on why and why not you can do them (some of them even when). So some i already know what to expect. To you other guys there, having a gun and shield combo i can kinda understand since i like being the riot shield guys on Rainbow Six Siege. But really i just like to see my captain punching aliens... while having a shield. Also can we get a monk class... that could also use a shield?

I'm really sad to hear that you don't like the way shields are represented in the game. We put a lot of thought into designing them for the the giant mechs -- intentionally tried to make them very unique within the game's defensive mix. We will try to improve that ... but we have to stick with the vision that we set out to make regarding Leviathan Mechs and their design. They're not riot shields and humans...
We will definitely take a day here this week to go back over everything on the to do list for BF and try to find the highest feedback elements in terms of quality of life. Because we're only two people and thousands of people are playing the game, our to-do lists tend to expand to thousands of items.
We get less feedback via the forum then we do via e-mail ... which makes it hard to say "just implement the most popular quality of life items!" since we have such a big mix. We definitely try to meet our fan's expectations and hopes, both on Steam Reviews, e-mails, forum posts, Twitter comments, Facebook posts, Facebook messages, Google Play Reviews, App Store Reviews and Amazon App Store Reviews.
It doesn't hurt to throw comments on posts you agree with, it helps us prioritize.

Well you're the creator, you can't use all suggestions to help make your game better. You know the bigger picture then most.
There's nothing wrong with the way you represented with how shields works passively and i like it. It's just, that's it? No action push effects to change the location of enemy? No movement determent or loss of accuracy when being hit with a shield? The only reason you need a shield for actively is for buffs. In my opinion that's just a little boring. I'm just sad that most games have sad representations of shields, shields are weapons too. But that is a different subject that doesn't relate to this and will be kept separated. But i understand you have a vision and that's cool.
Yea the name "Trese Brothers" explains that, I've read the company bio. You have already responded to people who had the same views as i and ya'll are already on the ball with that, if i have more i will suggest it like all the people here and will keep in mind of responding.
It's great to see people who have a passion of what they do and they love it.

heatgenbu - thanks for the feedback and for clarifying. I just wanted to be sure that I didn't miss anything after reading your Steam review. Shields provide some of the best Parry and Auto-Block % values in the game, not to mention they are the key to some of the best defensive Buffs in the game. As we work through the rest of the EQ + New Talent variations for Templar classes, we'll take a look at this one again. Thanks!

I have to chime in since so many have already. I think Shields ARE weapons already in the game; kinda to fallen s point about parry/auto block, and counter attack. Also so Cory Trese knows at least someone likes the Shields!

We're still really focused on incorporating player feedback and trying to get a handle on the QoL requests you mentioned.

Shields are for defense especially in close quarters fighting. Would love a Captain with Shield and Pistol. I rarely use the sword on my captains, mostly equip whatever gives me best defensive bonuses after all other pieces of equipment and armor have been fitted. His pistol and buffs are main focus so let us beef up defense with shield instead of sword. FYI, any virtually all martial arts that include shield or buckler use disallow almost all offensive use of them because they are too farking dangerous to the target. The old fight books include offensive usage. Yes, I have given and received stunning blows from accidental blows with shield edges.
