Yep the danger isn't the enemy ship, it's the enemy captain who is 10+ levels above you.

Had another strange one yesterday. I had the far superior ship and am lev 40. Warrior skill is 62 for boarding and I have 100 crew. a ship with 40 crew and less than 1/2 shield and hull during boarding killed my crew and blew up my ship taking no loss of crew or damage to their ship. I was lucky and escaped in a pod.

What about captain levels? My captain level is 40 with 62 warrior skill. I think I will work on tactics for a while. That helps with boarding to and I'm at 30 with that. I'm sure that's the problem. |

I am not sure that was it.
One of my Alien hunters had, back in the 5.9 version, tactics only 70% and it worked fine. What about stats like pilot and intimidate?

I am not sure that was it. One of my Alien hunters had, back in the 5.9 version, tactics only 70% and it worked fine. What about stats like pilot and intimidate? Everything is lower than warrior cuz I pretty much pour 1/2 my xp into that. I'm working on looting and destroying ships for the ship destruction badges. Most of the time they don't have a chance. I've killed 3 aliens with 1 of those being a close call but then I find a small ship somewhere and it destroys me with ease. |

Don't make enemies among factions. |

All upgrades are what I could find to help short range boarding. My lowest rep is 220 with Javat. Most I have between 350 and 400. All ranks are 12 to 16 but they have dropped a bit from getting stripped ranks when im doing missions against independents.
