1) I would like to see Alien encounters/kills/type Stats. Number of Alien encounters, battles, ships destroyed and what type of Aliens encountered.
2) Would also like to see Alien kill/capture missions. Missions to defend Space shipping lanes, wild or dead planets from Alien activity.
3) Reward to enable capturing Alien ship. "Capture x number of Aliens ships" and you unlock ability to take low level Alien ships. Could be gradations of this reward, enabling taking of higher level Alien ships. Logic behind this being that after capturing x number of ships, scientists are able create Human/Alien interface to pilot certain classes/types of their ships.
4) Building on previous suggestion, perhaps missions that increase Fractions' and planets' Ports, Exchanges, etc. Some times palaces, exchanges, military bases are closed; there could be missions to repair/open them.

WickedMacJack - looks like a great list of suggestions for ST2. #1 and #2 definitely fit well. You'll never be able to capture alien ships, that simply isn't within the lore of Star Traders.

Regarding #2, there is a chance to get a kill contract against an alien if you have a Templar officer aboard (regular Templar, not Hydra or Command).
This is according to the help file.

Since alien ships have unrealistic stats, it would be a pain to actually use alien ships. If I took command of Narvidian Hive, I don't think I would have had any fun hunting aliens.
