Moving to the room with the four entrance-ways (bridge is North) is an awesome position to hold. Aliens can only come one at a time and with at least two knights having Heavy Leviathans, and the Captain + remaining knight holding the 3rd door, nothing gets through.

Ehm...Trade depot yet doesn't appear to me...So No Heavy Leviathans...I tried to go in the southern room(3 entrances),but it was a massacre...Maybe i must re-try with different tactical positions, and in the same room...3 Entrances are good, better than 4 =) BTW i'll try ur advise my dear Austral(right word???) Emisphere Boy =) thx ^_^

Trade depot was from a level or two before the Hold Position mission. You only have enough to buy a couple ... or rather, I did.
I had captain covering the south corridor, and a soldier covering west and east. If you don't have the heavy, you could use the remaining soldier/scout to provide backup - he should be able to move to backup another knight within 1 turn. Also, find the square where the aliens end up adjacent to the Captain at the very end of their movement phase (so you have full CP for the captain to swing his sword). Finding the right squares to perch on provides significant benefits.

The real problem in this mission is the HUGE respawn in the upper map zone...From North, about 7-8 Xenos are too many for my squad(err,half-squad, 'cause 2 covering northern side, one on southern, one on eastern, and the guy on southern helps Eastern Side guy...This happened both on Starting zone Room and Southern room, smaller) The Northern Xeno Swarm eats my First Line,in any case...=) I'll try to move to south then to east, never stopping...Maybe I'll complete that damn mission XD damn Scout Squad!!! =) In these situations,i'd like to roll a tiny, nice, smiley grenade...and todo(--all--) is resolved XD

Slide87 - because of the massive xeno rush from the north, I have always assigned my captain to the northern tunnel. Then I put one Templar on the E and S tunnels. Then I use a scout in the middle of the room to run back and forth and back-up any Templar or the captain who is under the worst attack. Remember to use your defensive CP! A CP for defense is more powerful than a CP for offense. Always end a turn with 2 CP if possible. And use your Phalanx fire. A Templar can fire through his own team, allowing a scout behind the captain to provide extra defense against that massive wave. Maybe the level does need some balancing =) Let us know!

ilike I said, I did think that was the hardest level in the 2 campaigns. I think I actually lost the first time. It wasn't disproportionately hard tho, it seemed a natural progression of difficulty except the ones after it were easier again.
I still can't believe anyone plays on brutal. Really? How?

rico - i play on brutal... it must have taken me 80 level retries to complete the campaign. Nasty nasty nasty stuff. It forces "precision" at a whole new level. One wrong step, one miss when you needed a hit... restart! It's there for us crazies =)

Hmm... tried after the update.
Taking a step back upon starting still gets you immediate victory.
