Can anyone list a few?
I just got Heartbeats of Summer by defeating the silver werewolf. But someone said I could have gone an alternative route and gotten even a better item and a shop? What could that path have been?

You may have missed the follow up to the Werewolf quest. You are faced with a decision at the end, Heartbeats of Summer or a couple (2 randomly out of 3) lesser (but still awesome) equips and a shop that sells fantastic items at a steep price. The Heartbeats will realistically last you till endgame. Stuff I have found is starting to approach it but nothing is better yet (keep in mind there are still 2 sizeable installments left to the game). The other stuff you can equip on multiple characters and is really good, but is phased out in episode 4 for sure (I am still using the bow I got from this quest but that may just be to unlucky drops from chests, haven't seen a clear improvement yet).

Ah, darn. So I missed good XP, too, I reckon

It is still doable. Look at your quest log.

achilles73 - the XP granted for taking the choice you took is very, very good.

It is still doable. Look at your quest log. Is it to track down Wyatt through the secret path above the surface - or something like that? Also, why is the episode 2 quest about discussing Marko's offer at the Brunehorn Inn to go to the City of the Dead still active? I already decided to agree and go there under the Koda banner.

achilles73 - yeah, I didn't check the numbers exactly, but killing her is the choice that gives more direct XP.

It simply seemed morally wrong to do that. It dooms two human beings to death, and humanity itself has much to thank Tevensa for. Plus the bow I got from Wyatts cache is pretty awesome.

It is a great bow that lasts into Ep 4 but will not last the game. Selen or tamilin's legendary will replace it for sure.
You're so worried about maximizing, but if your party is doing well, then you are good. Equipment doesn't make parties. Well developed talent selections do 😉
The treasure drop lists are large enough that despite multiple playthroughs, I am still surprised by new equipment in each playthrough.

Not sure if anything in the game is meant to last for the entire play through... One of my favorite things is the massive variety of great items-- I just finished the Storm Brothers first 2 quests, and my level 41 group is constantly getting equipment worth trading out. phaze is correct that gear can only go so far to make a group with playing. With the right talents and strategy you can do just about anything the game has to throw at you.

Awesome! I thought only Kincaid and Vincent did among my current group. Speaking of which: Selen and Kincaid are so ridiculously good that it is difficult for me to even consider Tamlin or Vrase. Does anyone use Selen as a pure archer who can tank and not level her melee? I am thinking I should've just maxed bows and Pinning Shot, given how effectively she shoots.

If yes, what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing it first? I stopped after the first tower to get Heartbeats. But now I am wondering if I should've finished it first, since maxed out Banishment was wrecking everything there in the early 30s. But now I don't know if it will at mid 30s.
