New to the game, haven't completed a playthrough yet and because I don't know how many RPs we get by the end of the campaign I'm having difficulty planning out my build. Basically I don't know how many classes I can branch into while still remaining effective with each one I invested points in. Roughly how much RP do we get to play around with when planning a build? (Averaging around 15% bonus RP and if difficulty makes a difference I'm playing two levels above the default.)
If total RP is difficult to estimate another way to phrase my question would be: How many classes should I work on if I want to complete exactly one branch for each class I invest points in? (Note: This is not what I'm actually doing but getting an answer would give me at least a rough idea of what to look forward to.)

I am absolutely sure we've calculated the RP on different run rate in a thread before. I just have to search for it. If I don't find it before some else posts it for me

I have yet to make it to the end of the campaign, but I believe it was said somewhere that with skilful play you can unlock the entire tech tree in about 2 full runs (new game+)
I would recommend focussing on the core classes + one specialist at first, and then moving towards a second specialist as the game progresses.
It sucks when you spread yourself too thin and can't fully upgrade Templar gear/talents on level up - I know that too well

I would add that you probably want to focus on one specialist AND the paladin for healing. You don't have to go whole-hog on the pally but you'll probably want something there, after the Rychart prime missions against the cultists.
Also, there's really no need to unlock the whole tree for a particular type. I would build a certain kind of hydra or scout not necessarily unlock the whole tree.

And I just went and checked a team that's completed all the missions and replayed 4 additional missions. They have about 8,700 RP. They were playing on Nightmare and maxing almost all of the bonuses. So they probably got about 8,000-8,300 from the original campaign plus Stratos. If you're playing on lower difficulty and not getting the same bonuses you'll get less.

Is it basically left vs right side of the tree, as in captain, soldier, engineer and scout are core and the rest are specialists? I would add that you probably want to focus on one specialist AND the paladin for healing. So that would mean the baseline RP is around 8000 minus the 25% difficulty bonus, minus another 25% or so for the turn and kill bonus, making it 8000 / 1.25 / 1.25 = 5120?

It's definitely better to focus on one or two specialists and leave the rest of the RP tree for Replay+. Which specialist you choose to develop is a matter of style, I guess. In my playing style, I mainly focus on making my Scouts snipers, and unlocking the Hydra tree for the extremely useful ability to fill up promethium lakes. So I mainly spend RP towards the sniper branch of the Scout tree, the first few nodes of the soldier/captain tree, and work my way towards the Hydra tree. If I have some RP left afterwards, I'd spend it towards getting my Engineer's Capture skill up to level 6, when its cost reduces to 2AP instead of 3AP, meaning you can neutralize and capture an enemy TP within a single turn. Generally, though, I only spend RP when my templars level up and I've run out of things to upgrade them with. It's usually better to conserve RP until you actually need it, so that you aren't left with insufficient RP just when you badly need a particular upgrade.
