The Officers/Crew/Pilot/Ship Ops/ .... Repair/Tactics/Command .... chart. This Green thing that is at the bottom of the screen when you type Status -- is information I want to have on the same screen as the 'Train Job' screen. It's annoying to have to go back and forth trying to see what improvements you need to make next.
can send screenshots if needed.

In a similar vein when picking jobs for officers it would be useful to see what talents go with each potential job. Some jobs I still haven't had officers train in and I might be missing out on some great talents there because I was busy staking skills or whatever with known jobs.

xdesperado request already on roadmap. Focusing here on grävling request. How is Training Job related to Ship Soak? I guess you must be trying to try around Soak instead of around another goal? Since you are only training officer jobs, I am curious how many of those points you're allocating to soak? I can see how it might be useful info in some edge cases, I cannot imagine most people are training around ship stats. Hard for me to tell intent from the data I'm gathering tho.

My problem is massive ignorance. I have no idea why I should train my officers in anything at all. According to the green chart, my navigation and ship ops are poor. I thought to improve them by training jobs that are good in ship ops, and increase my navigation skill in my navigator officer. Improving ship ops seems to have made things better for me. Navigation is still under 100%. I'm supposed to be doing something else rather than training to get this green chart looking better?

Even with just level 1-3 crew you should be able to get well over 100% for ship handling skills requirements. Crew skill levels get pooled together and so you need to have enough crew with the appropriate skills to meet/exceed the listed soak. Example my Guardian Interceptor has a Navigation soak of 28. The skill levels of all my crew with navigation gets added together so Navigators and Pilots primarily and I have 32/28 for 114% and no one on crew higher than 3rd level. Training to higher job levels will increase the skills but not as quickly as just adding another navigator or giving an officer a second/third job that added navigation to their base.

xdesperado: thanks. still wish I could be seeing the green chart as I was deciding which new job this officer should take.

xdesperado: thanks. still wish I could be seeing the green chart as I was deciding which new job this officer should take. We will try to fit it. Isn't time in the budget for it since it isn't in the scope at all, but we can try to fit it in maybe the originally planned features are better replaced with that? I dunno, I would not use it for that but maybe players will. Like I said, we don't get intent data from the metrics so for this we have to trust our designers and mix in some alpha feedback. Probably wait and collect more player feedbacks.

I have to keep flipping from one screen to the other and it's annoying, that is all. I want the place where making the changes show up in the display to be right where you make them, so you can watch what making them actually did to you, and not trust your memory to remember what your old stats were. It's particuarly bad when you <do thing A> with the expectation that you will <get result B> but instead you <get result Q>. Wait! wait! now what were my old values again?

If the full display wouldn't fit a line or two of text saying if any ship soaks were not being filled would be helpful, or whichever is the lowest %

maybe for each skill the job in question has, we could list the associated soaks.

It would also be helpful if when you're looking at the crew list to be able to see which of the crew are officers. I'd imagine this could be done with either some text or an icon.

bookworm21 , while I knew they were first in line, I had not noticed the motif. Thanks.
