fallen I have one that is at the end of current content. I went to Gholla and got the click. I would need an explaination on how to send it.

matrim - if you are on windows, the saved games are in C:\Users\<you>\AppData\HeroesofSteel.win32\ You can just ZIP up the whole folder and send it to andrew@tresebrothers.com And tell me what the game is named in the UI.

fallen Hmm tried looking, I don't have an AppData folder under my user profile (Windows 7). I tried searching for the win32 file but my computer knowledge is 15+ years old and I am not sure where to proceed.

It's actually,
C:\Users\<you>\AppData\Local\HeroesofSteel.win32\
AppData is a hidden folder for some silly reason. To go Tools > Folder Options > View Tab > radio button "Show hidden files, folders and drives"

fallen - Not sure if this is relevant now that you have a saved game file, but the order of events in the " Ideal playthrough to max XP [SPOILERS]" thread reproduce the log issue about sharing the news of Nikolai's death with Hagathrum (who is already dead), even though the in game dialog hints at Nikolai surviving "fighting a brave retreat", assuming you choose to kill Hagathrum when you "Clear Gholla levels [29+]..."

Just providing more info on this:
In my current playthrough I chose to spare Hagathrun (for the first time).
1. The CoD dialog just after the Seer Lord battle played out the same as when killing Hagathrun - hinting at Nikolai surviving "fighting a brave retreat" & "we will see him again" 2. The log about sharing the sad news is already completed, I have only made it to the war camps... (I'll watch to see exactly where the log appears in my other game, but I imagine it is when the battle with the Seer Lord ends/conversation with Ryethin time-frame). 3. Another difference would be that I chose Koda this time, but I assume that is irrelevant for this story arc. 4. As my first course of action (post-CoD) I went directly to Gholla (Koda War Camp > Braeys War Camp > Ironwood Range (cleared) > Braeyshaulm (passed through without talking to anyone) > Gholla). Upon reaching Gholla there were no options in the Temple of Law.
As it is now, the quest log issue occurs whether Hagathrun is spared or killed, and the story plays out the same whether Hagathrun is spared or killed.

I have finally pinpointed when the erroneous quest log is added. ("We shared our sad news of Nikolai's death with the god Hagathrum and Gaqron Tazzer. Weakened, and bound to the Temple of Law, we allowed Hagathrum to live out his day life with the same grace and righteousness that Nikolai showed us. Ultimately, he and his lineage will fade from the world.")
I checked the logs continually after the battle with the Seer Lord Kri - After leaving CoD - After going to the alter (each conversation) - After talking with Ryethin - After the ensuing battle (before jumping down the hole) - After jumping down the hole and Seer Rasp's speech...
Long story short, the log appears when you transition from the Sheltered Sanctuary to the Undercity Foundations... at least that is exactly when it appeared on this playthrough.

Wow, very sharp observation! You are correct, and have pinpointed the addition of that invalid log. It is fixed for the version after 4.4.13, as 4.4.13 is already built and uploading. v4.4.13 also includes a number of fixes related to Nikolai and issues with Gholla Outlook.

That's great news! Does this mean that the Edict plate will now be available to groups that spared Hagathrun, or would that only apply to new games?

I am not sure, as while this has fixed some bugs with Gholla Outlook, I am not sure it has fixed them all. It is something I have on my list to test extensively for the next release. Might be better to wait until then if you have groups that could go up there. Once it is fixed, it will be fixed for any group that hasn't made the Hagathrun choice yet.

With enough help and saved games, I've fixed one of the two major branches of this bug (Hagathrun spared, you return to tell him).
The second issue where Hagathrun is dead and you return to tell Tazzer is still at large, but now backed into a corner.
