xdesperado Sorry, bad terminology on my part. What I mean to say is several talents active at once. I will be able to use things like evasive manoeuvres, target lock and sharp steering and they will stay active and overlap a few turns while I'm fighting fires with ship protocols. Currently with the two-turn buff I am often faced with the 'exciting' decision (as fallen put it) of purging the ship to counter existing damage or using another evasive manoeuvre to avoid potential damage, or ignoring both and buffing up my accuracy to improve my hit rate in the hope of inflicting damage! I'm pretty sure that I've had two talents active at once, I've definitely had a talent plus ships protocols, but you have sown the seeds of doubt. I'll have to check later. Hopefully talents will stack though, because the spy (I think) has a talent similar to the pilot's sharp steering. It would be interesting to confirm the effects if both are active concurrently.

Ship Buffs stack 100%. You can have as many as you can get out. However, as mentioned, their duration's are short.
They are all going up to 4 next update. We will see how that feels.

What does 'get out' mean in 'as many as can get out'? w.r.t passive skills? If I have 4 crew with the same skill I don't get all 4 using their skill and then all 4 wishing like hell the cooldown would be over, do I?

That comment was about Ship Combat, in which you can play Active Talents. With a short duration, and the need to purge bad debuffs, you're a bit limited in how fast you can drop your ship buffs. I always like to start with Sharp Steering if I am fleeing, or Evasive Maneuvers if I plan to stay and fight. If I don't take a debuff from the enemy attack, I drop another buff, sometimes a second Evasive Maneuvers to really stack up my defenses. That is -- buffs stack, even of the same type.

didn't know buffs of the same type stack - that is _really_ good to know. Maybe worth adding to the rules explanation thread? Double evasive manueovors will definitely reduce the damage taken for those that stand and fight.

bobc - no, any Buff that increase Reactor Pts (which is what Engine Precision does as of next update) will stay at duration 2.
