Either they die with the crew, or I need a crew button 'filter by weapon type, or cost, or something'. Either that, or our weapons lockers are incredibly messy ... I looked there and didn't find any or, scary thought, can you break your weapons in combat/while exploring?

We decided not to do Weapon Durability in this game. But your Weapons Locker Component takes damage when Crew are defeated holding weapons.
If you give Crew / Officers special weapons, they are lost when the Crew Quit or Die. At this time. Subject to change?

grävling - can you explain that comment? It would help us understand the feedback better. Do you mean, "if they die and lose their gear, then I won't use gear anymore" ?? Weapon Lockers are components that provide as many weapons and armor as your crew needs. There is no number, no inventory -- just "here is what is in the weapons locker, which do you want?" You can buy better equipment (Weapon/Armor/Gear) from Contacts. This is in an actual inventory, and you have limited numbers. If the bearer dies or leaves you, the equipment is lost with them at this time. In the future, you will be able to loot this type of better equipment from different game events (explorer, looting enemy ships, missions, ground fights, etc)

fallen: I spent money on better gear, and assigned it to crew, and then, I guess, said crewman got eaten by a grue when out exploring. I was trying to find it so I could give it to a different redshirt. I'll stop looking for it now; the grue ate it too.

Yeah, grävling correctly used the game mechanic for custom gear but the Captain decided the fallen crew needed to be buried with the fancy pistols he carried in life. It is a bug I say, a bug.

I honestly can't wait until you can meet the grue. It's going to be great

That last series of posts was priceless. Gravling finally got to stop searching for weapons she'd never find, while Fallen and Cory manically chase bugs which may not exist. :-)
I'm really enjoying the alpha experience. You guys get some sleep now, ya' hear.
The Grue will get cha!
Note: This post was meant to be humorous. Any failure to be humorous is the fault of tenbsmith, unemployed comedian.
Edit: The second sentence originally referred to Gravling as he, an error on my part which i've now fixed.

Also be aware that "calling me 'he' instead of 'she'" will never enrage me.

Also be aware that "calling me 'he' instead of 'she'" will never enrage me. But the wrath ... the badger queen ... talons the size of scimitars ... teeth like the rings of Saturn ...

Fixed for next, gear reclaiming implemented. You even reclaim when your crew die aboard an enemy ship.
This may become a difficulty scaled rule at some point, but for now it is universal
