Game cannot find my empty passenger cabin.

I installed a Passenger Cabin on my Paladin Cruiser.
I used it to take Baron SomebodyOrOther off to his new diplomatic post. He was 'welcomed with open arms'.
But apparantly the Baron has got the spacer's itch. I cannot take any more Passenger Missions, because the game says that I don't have any free passenger cabins. (Or did the miserable wretch just _destroy_ my nice cabin? )

Also, I went to a Legendary Starport, and the game did not list the cabin in the list of my components. So I couldn't sell the thing, stowaway and all, and replace it with something else more useful. Is this a game feature, that you cannot sell cabins that are being used?

Is the Cabin damaged beyond 60%?

Must buy a new one. By now that cabin is damaged 100% as I suffered a catastrophic hull failure ...

However, at the time mentioned, the whole ship was in perfect condition, at least the shipyard didn't offer to fix anything.

Okay, I was able to reproduce this. Turns out the Consul liked the cabin so much he took it when he left!

Watch this sequence.

First we get ourselves a nice mission. We already have bought the passenger cabin.


We deliver him to his friends who are waiting with open arms.


Off he goes.


Let's look at our ship. Oh-oh. I see I have 0/0 passengers here.


Check the decks for damage: Deck 1 looks good.


Deck 2 looks good, too.


But when I try to take another mission, the cabin just isn't there.

I think we need to redesign the passenger cabin.

Using a retrofitted escape pod as a passenger cabin works for functionality, since you just do a fly-by the plant while ejecting the cabin from orbit, but reusability is zero.

I have no idea how that could possibly happen. Missions are completely unable to change ship components.

Can you go into "Status > Cargo > Mission Items" and see if there are any weird ghost passengers hanging out?

Nope. Totally blank screen (with the little plus signs).

Should I try a different passenger taking mission and see if they all do this or just the one where you deliver the Consul? Should I buy a few passenger cabins and see if they drop off one at a time or if something happens and you lose them all when the mission succeeds? I'd try to fail this mission, but I don't think I can ...

Any chance you can send the saved game? The best I can guess is that you took a mission that never gave you a passenger ever, and you've never had a passenger cabin, ever. Some kind of bugged mission that doesn't really required a cabin.

While I was carrying the passenger, my ship said I had 1/1 passengers. I can check to see if before I get him but after I buy the thing, it said I had 0/1, but I am pretty sure I did.

Try to take mission. Get told no passenger cabin. Look, see, aha, that is correct, don't have one. Go to shipyard in town, buy passenger cabin, go back to the same contact and get the same mission I couldn't take before.

I don't know how to send you a saved game on android. This tablet isn't rooted, but I have been just putting that off because unlocking the bootloader is going to do a factory reset, sigh, and I have some game scores I didn't want to lose....

grävling - Cory has figured this out in the meantime. An issue with the saved game, you installed the Passenger Cabin, but then later the game reverted the changes you made to your ship components.
