I know there is a calc used for comparing DV to a d300 to determine if you get xp... but is there still a roll if you have no cybernetics?
Getting xp from combat seems hit or miss (ha!), and im just wondering if this is a bug I need to figure out how to replicate, or is this working as intended.
Do any of the other ways to get xp (jobs, encounters, etc) have randomization rolls to determine if you get xp? Does combat xp differ on the amount/type of baddies you fight?

All XP is randomized. There are two checks.
What it Hard enough to warrant XP? Is the character human enough to learn?
--- this is not a bug, it is working as designed.

Oooooh... didn't know that. I just assumed exhausted= "severe reduction to all skills/rolls/etc", but Ill keep an eye on that as well.
I think the problem is I may have misread the thread about how DV affects your xp, and then assumed a noncybered hoomin would get full xp from combat.
Either way, ill be running logcat and try to keep better notes. Is there anything else I need to watch out for? Is 1 the max xp you can get from winning combat, or do you have a chance for xp with each 'kill'?

Right now the Karma (XP) Award system follows the standard Cyber Punk forumula wherein the success or failure of an event is the critical component, not the overall count or metric of success.
For example, in SR or CP you receive XP based on the runs complete, not on how many nuyens are scored.
In the future Cyber Knights will continue to expand on the XP award system, however with only a small number of the game's sub-systems active it is hard for us to have a fair discussion or debate about XP awards.
As XP v2 comes online we will be able to all see the full scope of the game and discuss where XP balances factor into the design.

Nothing is 100% black and white in Cyber Knights.
NOTHING. I have purged the absolutes from the game with fire and sword.
Where in ST there are many, many black and white rules we've done away with that in CK.
The game is what it is -- a grey morass of shifting alliances, truths and lies. Down to the very core of the system.
