If Crew Morale drops below 20 ...
1. they AUTO_FLEE CrewCombat 2. they are basically non-functional in CREW_SUMMARY 3. if you land somewhere nice, they're going to try to leave

We're working on it. Won't eliminate leavers -- they're a critical feature and balancer -- but it will give Captains a chance to retain a few % points more than they do now.

Officers with Magnetic Trait.
There is already support for Talent that can stop leavers, but no one has it yet.

I feel that at the moment (with 5 officers) I can get most jobs locked down pretty securely. I look forward to more hard decisions in this area as more jobs are added

I look forward to more hard decisions in this area as more jobs are added As more and more high level Talents are implemented (and become visible in the game), I think the argument for focused officers (3 jobs at level 1, then raise 1 high) will come back into view strongly.

That's what I do already, with maybe except very similar/complementary jobs, like Military Officer & Commander. Btw bookworm21, you can also make harder choices right now, if start off with a smaller ship (less max officers).

And if you're stacking jobs that give the same skills, you really want to try to by Talents that use skills for % or bonus values.
