tenbsmith I'm not sure about what you mean by 'influencing the card draw', I thought it was totally random? If you mean that you can use knowledge of the zone and skills to stack the deck in your favour and then install components to mitigate the damage aferwards, then yes totally agree. In another thread grävling found her patrol Utopia, and I think that is a corner stone of the mini-games; if the zone is pants you are going to get a whipping no matter what you do. I've found planets to patrol where I was sometimes drawing three reputation cards at a time, other planets where l struggled to get one +card in five! Hopefully as I get a better understanding of all the various zone stats and how they work I will be able to cherry-pick where I play so that I can significantly increase my chances of drawing a strong deck to play with. I see this as skillfull play, but maybe using a different set of skills to those enjoyed by other players.

bobc - we're rebuilding the UI to more clear to help players see the risk / reward factors. Also, Rumors and Conflicts player a big role, which will continue to grow as we keep building out, so chasing those will become a part of finding the right place to sink your rolls.

Yes.
Today, on the screen you can see 6 numbers in the bottom right -- they are not labeled and will be brought into the main UI soon enough.
These indicate the chance of -- "drawing a decent reward card, drawing a good reward card, drawing a rare reward card" and "drawing a low risk card, drawing a medium risk card, and drawing a maximum risk card". These numbers are calculated based on all the inputs Cory mentioned, and specific low /med/max or decent/good/rare cards have their specific chances modified from that base value on rumors, conflicts, skills, etc.
Depending on your screen size, the reward numbers are now obscured by the 4 buttons.
Hope that helps.

On my device at least, those 6 numbers *are* labelled.

On my device at least, those 6 numbers *are* labelled. They are, but are fully unexplained

On the topic of "remove a risk" Talents, the animation is fixed. The card goes away first, and then the normal processing follows.

grävling and xdesperado , if you understood the mechanics of the minigames better, then you could min/max them--would that make the games more satisfying for you? Describing how players can influence their card draw could also illustrate how the relevant Skill influences the draw, which would address my concern that this connection is currently hidden. To some extent. But the joy would be in figuring out how to do it, which is a funny-once sort of thing. As opposed to killing Rychart zealots, which is always satisfying. Other people would feel precisely the opposite, of course. I have an officemate who always wants to borrow my tablet just to play the blockading minigame.

Seems the same with trading. Some people love trading game. Some people hate trading game. Shrug. Thankfully the game has many, many aspects.

I think the post I'd done a week or so ago was simply worded much worse than tenbsmith 's. His concerns/complaints are a perfect mirror to my own about the card mini-games.

Alex Fury, your post last week inspired this one. The two threads come at the issue from different perspectives.

I can report the same visual bug on my LG G6, I see "Empty - Nothing here" when using a remove card. Not a huge deal though.
The entire UI, eh? Definitely excited to see what you do with it, every update has been like a little mini-Christmas; I get to open the app and see what is new.
*Yowza* didn't realize that the thread had moved on so much. That's what I get for looking at this thread while at work.

johndramey - we've fixed the visual issue with "Empty - Nothing Here". Cory Trese previewed it in the Twitch today. It's the same basic setup, just greatly improved. Not quite done yet tho.
