This game is amazing, but here is my bug report to help make it more amazing 1) Cadar Pavonis and Baza Prime seem to have swapped descriptions (or whatever you call the topmost paragraph you see when you land) 2) Usually when I finish off an enemy ship by lowering it's engines to zero, the last combat message I see is "<Your ship> dealt 0 damage to <enemy ship>." 3) After defeating (but not destroying) an enemy for a contract, sometimes the "destroy" button is bolded, even when I'm not supposed to kill him for the contract (and other way around as well, usually when I am supposed to killed him, the destroy button isn't bolded) 4) Whenever I (accidentally) destroy a merchant ship in combat, I get no rep from any trade wars that faction is involved in. Possibly intentional? 5) I was 25 rep with House Thulun, with a trade permit and rank 2 in their military. Then I back-stabbed them repeatedly in a war and dropped to negative 4 rep, yet my trade permit and military status were both intact. 6) When I retreat from a faction's hostile pirates (hostile because I don't have their trade permit), I lose rep. What, is it illegal to avoid being robbed?

I will fix #1.
#2 is a data structure issue -- the game has lost track of the actual damage register. Needs to be replaced with "<Your ship> has dealt final death blow to <enemy ship>'s Engines."
#3 is a bug i'm working on. i didn't mean for that to be included in the previous release. =(
#4 possible bug, investigation
#5 mix of bug and difficulty settings perhaps
#6 if that faction's pirates are operating in that faction's territory ... yes, it is illegal to resist ...

Thanks for the quick response.
4) Might be because I destroyed or attacked the merchant outside of their own territory?
5) I am playing on Challenging (2). Although with the other factions, I lose my trade permit the moment I lose rep with them.
6) Understood. But maybe you should make it more clear in-game. I was confused by that for a long time, since there is a nice explanation when facing military ships, but nothing when facing pirates.

#6 -- This has been identified as a bug in my programming and is not intentional.
I found an issue and I think it was that you were saying one thing, and I was hearing another.
You cannot attack (go hostile) vs. a Faction's pirates without loosing reputation.
You should be able to flee -- warships is what I was thinking about, sorry.

I've noticed a few things while playing 2.9.0.
The Dry Dock option has never come up as being available. I don't know if it's the way I'm playing or not.
Started a new character last night, and I've been completely cracking out on this game. lol.. My character has over 2million bucks, I'm a level 53 Hyperion Overlord. I'm playing on Normal Difficulty 1. and I've been to a lot of stations - Dry Dock has never been available. Any idea why?
Also, my favorite ship of choice is the Longbow Carrier. Big hold, lots of guns.
I just noticed that if you have a bad faction with someone and you do a Contract for them, the price is a negative amount. Lol "Our payment for this Contract will be $-4,442." Lol - they hate me.
I've noticed that I can't buy the +6 engines upgrade. I have the money, I'm friendly with a faction that has it and I don't have an existing upgrade in the slot.
Same with the Water-Fuel Tank (~25). I've unlocked it with this character, I have the money for it, it's listed as available but I cannot purchase it.

Dry Dock should be available anywhere you had Rank or on any Independent planet where you have a ship. You need to purchase a ship to have the dry dock button. -- Added the negative money issue to the bug list. -- Water Tank and +6 Engines should only be purchasable in the Elite edition of the game. Water Tank is a critical upgrade for the long-haul red-zone travels of the Elite map. The pursuit reactor Engines are for chasing down the faster Alien and Hulks of Elite map. I need to go back and double check the locks. Maybe I have it wrong

I like seeing the Picky Beggar in the game and i appreciate it.
I found one bug in the begginning I think. I started new games on Challenging and on Normal with Star Traders working for De Valtos. On both tries my captains lost a point of rating with De Valtos on delivering the beginnning package. Maybe I shouldn't have asked the Prince for a tip?

This game is a riot. I hope you're making a killing off of it.

Kalwren42 -- probably a bug. I will have it fix in an hour or two with the next release of bug fixes (fun!)
Kelvin -- the message does reduce reputation with starting Faction. I'm sure it makes no sense right now, but it is a contract of Faction vs. Faction -- what I call a Traitor Contract.
They occur occasionally -- evidence of infighting between sub-factions within the organization.
In story mode the first contract is assigned to the player in the exposition -- along with the ship and First Mate.
but right now it makes no sense at all so I'll suppress it.
thanks for the reminder.

Dry dock is working. I just didn't understand how it worked. Cool feature! I'm going to build a fleet!

So my first assignment was to deliver gag exploding spice pipes to the Prince? At least they didn't kill the messenger.

More upgrade slots would be freakin' pimp. I'd love to be able to add additional guns. It would make smaller ships more viable in the later game.

At this time we are adding new upgrades, not new slots, sorry.
I will take barrage gun updates under advisement.
---
The first assignment was to deliver an old encrypted datapad to a man operating at the palace.
A man who knew your father...
