Just became the proud new owner of TA ELITE. The only thing is maybe rename HOLDS the GATES to "Getting Bi4ch slapped by the Xeno." The whole experience was a combination of claw marks goughing deep enough through rhe faces of my Templars to leave their intials on the cheek bones and ended with a Xeno ripping a hole through my captains gut to say hello to his heart, licked the dripping blood from his gorey hand and made what looked like a snarling smile at the srunned Templars faspung in awe as the remainder of Xenos swarmed in from the shadows and tore spine and limbs apart freely.
*Note to future Gates Holders*
It doesn't work as well as it sounds to send each TEMPLARS into battle each with Null Blades. Uy call that one the 4 musketeers theory which was the xeno was overjoyed to prove ineffective. How glorious it would have been for the reinforcements to arrive and 4s Templars are standing there 100's of xeno corpses with nothing but swords in hand.

Hold the Gates is absolutely nightmarish for the rookie Templar. It is strongly recommended that they spend a few (dozen) seasons on the Moons of Nachot-ugo. This milk-run of a mission helps them develop their skills in attack AND defense. Once they are suitably experienced, Holding the Gates is relatively straight forward. It's a matter of finding the right points to establish a choke-point. Agreed though ... having all of the team have Null Blades is not great tactics for defensive play. Heavy Leviathans should be standard issue wherever possible, except in the Captain's case, as he has the Light Leviathan.

Makes sense for sword to be restricted... still before I get that update I will have a squad with swords already equipped. let's see if the update will pry the swords from their cold dead hands

Yeah ... buy up large with swords ... maybe you can sell em on the black market after they become banned goods.

Tho. the whole Templars 1 turn --- Xeno 3 turns bit can be a nightmarish for any level of player.
Captain: Boy, this long corrider gives me the creeps.
Huron Lucius: Agreed, the xeno could be anywhere.
*squish* *slosh*
Huron Lucius: Gross I just stepped in something....wait a minute *struggling to move leg* uhn uhn, I can't move my leg its stuck. Must be some kind of glue.
Captain: "#@£?¿!¡*", get ready soldier xeno coming from behind.
Xeno: *faint hissing and growling*
Huron: I cant move, help me my legs are stuck.
Captain dicken around soldier they are coming in fast and fierce.
Huron: Oh sh*t, I can't move... Shoot them!!
Captain: *raises weapon to fire* **click, click** Damn weapon jam.
Huron: Shoot it! Shoot it!!
Captain: Turn and fire your weapon soldier!
Xeno: **Very loud and close screaming growl**
Captain: Turn around soldierd, now! Now! Fire! Fire!
Xeno: *slash* *slash* SCREAM!!! *rips spine completely front Hurons backside*
---The captain lets forth a burst of fire as he manages to get weapon unjammed just as a bevy of xeno decend upon him.--
--Team2 in an adjacent hallways hear the burst and screams of xeno and starts moving quickly towards the direction it camera from--
*A little further down the hall**
Juron: *squish* *slosh* Yuck!, I stepped in simething . Uh oh, I cant move.
Corbulo: Quite dickens around the captain is probably ldone killing that xeno and is looking for us.
Juron: Im serious ? My legs aee stuck. I cant move.
*At the end of the hallway a pair of xeno let out a frenzious scrwam.......*

Tho. the whole Templars 1 turn --- Xeno 3 turns bit can be a nightmarish for any level of player. Yeah that's my least favorite part too. When you have 4cp and there's a purple xeno 8 spaces away and there's nothing you can do... you can't reach him, you can't run away from him and your defense cp will be gone by the time he gets to you and you just know he's going to get a free attack or two...or three depending on how many extra moves he gets. That's why I keep harping on the defense cp glitches. Or keep suggesting shorter turns... not changing anything mechanically but just reducing the number of cp for us and aliens so we move a couple spaces, they move a couple, we move one more and fire once, they move into hand to hand range and attack once, we punch twice, they attack twice... instead of the dramatically captured marathon run that purple bugs can make and still attack 3 times.

By the way I bought 5 null blades so will I get a refund. Or do in fact got a jump on the black market. Why I bought 5 is really beyond me. I have only 4 squad members.

You have 4 + 1 reserve right? Oh ... unless you're using the Tutorial team, which is only 4. <OT> The Skirmish squad is the only team I feel attached to now ... I start campaigns and find .. "oh wait, I can only move 4 squares, and have 45% chance of critical hit" and somewhat lose a little interest. Don't get me wrong, the campaigns themselves are really cool, with the dialog and story and additional functionality that is not in any of the skirmish missions, but I just love ole Captain Carter and her veteran skirmish team . </OT>
